    *Loving* the idea, it's brilliant.
    I did try reading some numbers that were rolled in the video as if I really rolled a dX die and wanted a result. It was mostly possible, some times I wasn't sure which d20 to read if the die lands on the d6 end.
    A bit of feedback if the author is reading: the arrows are definitely detrimental to the readability. When you roll a die, you want a result, not an instruction on where to see the actual result. Plus d4 and d8 arrows look the same, furthering the initial confusion. Considering the arrows are there just for aesthetic reasons (?), I feel it would be exponentially better to just print out the result directly. There would be multiple of the same d4 / d8 result, but that doesn't really matter as far as functionality goes, does it? And it would be instantly readable.

    • @Rybonator
      @Rybonator  Před 3 lety +13

      This is great feedback, but thinking about it, that leaves a weird amount of numbers for the d8/d4. There are 20 faces, so you could easily have 5 sets of d4, but how do you get the right amount of d8's? You'd have to have at least 4 faces with arrows or SOMETHING on them that directs to another face. You could definitely do triangles on all of the d4's though :)

    • @youshimimi
      @youshimimi Před 3 lety +9

      @@Rybonator ah, that's a good point, since I don't have them in my hands I'm only basing it on what I saw in the video.
      However, is the dice should be balanced, it needs the same probability for all d8 numbers, right? Even though I don't know specifically how it is laid out, I was assuming there is equal amount of arrows pointing towards each d8 number, otherwise the die would be rigged. If that is the case, then I would replace those arrows with the numeral depiction of the number there are pointing towards.
      That is if I'm not missing something crucial :D Working just with my imagination here haha

    • @SaraWolffs
      @SaraWolffs Před 3 lety +3

      @@youshimimi you're missing that there are no "d4 arrows" and "d8 arrows". If you need either a d4 or d8 and it lands on an arrow face, you look which arrow is *on top*, and follow that. You only distinguish d4 vs d8 on the face with actual numbers. This lets them split some of the faces of the d20 down the middle when used as a d8, increasing the effective number of faces to something which is divisible by 8 (by the looks if it, 32), which you need if you want to divide the faces fairly between 8 possible numbers.
