I’ll tell you what I’d really like to see, as a comparison side-by-side. A hammock under quilt, over quilt, and sleeping bag, next to a two-man tent, freestanding, sleeping bag and mattress pad.. Compare the bulk, the weight, and the time for set up.
I sleep best in a hammock, but have not used one in the woods, I just got a parachute gathered one to use for camping, I sure do like it so far. Being 80 yrs, old now I will take care to avoid cold weather hammocking.
Hammocks are 11 ft. tarps are 10 ft. grrrr. Sure with my DD 3*3 ultra lite I can get 14 ft’ just barely covered with a flying diamond but I want an A frame setup. I could extend the tarp with my poncho for an A frame setup I suppose, ohhh, drat it.
As far as what to put under me to keep the wind from taking heat away I have already used only a space blanket while sleeping in my clothes at 10 degrees centigrade it was fine. Note there was no wind that night. On windy nights a space blanket for a windbreak under me would be required.
So I intend to get a HBC wool blanket to wrap up in & a durable space blanket for under I . I expect to be able to sleep just fine @
Thank you, this really helps a LOT.
Just what I needed thanks! I've been battling cold spots for WAY too long!
Glad you found some value! Thanks for watching!
That was awesome
Nice!
Looks great just order one a 0degree looking forward to trying it out I like the face you can vent them so easy it it's to hot :-)
super helpful - thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Down UQ need to be made for double hammocks. I bought a down one but my elbows and upper arms hang out beyond the stupid thing and it's super annoying.
I just ordered one; this is helpful. I noticed your head & feet seem exposed going to the very edge or beyond the end of the underquilt. Would you recommend using a sit pad or something on either end for surety? I am a short-ish person but not certain if a regular size UQ will cover both ends all night.
You should looks into our down booties and Balaclava.
I just got the long underquilt and I have 11ft hammock. I feel the suspension isn't long enough. What are some options I can do?
Can't you just extend it with some extra cords?
@@APlagueOfButterflies actually that's what I did. I went down to hobby lobby and got 2 15ft cords and extended it. Also it was a bit thicker and held in place better too. I'm going to keep an eye on the stitching for any extra wearing die to slightly changing the design.
can you please tell me why my underquilt ripped? mine ripped vertically both sides. new to the hammock game, thought I was set up, lay in my hammock and i heard a nasty ripping sound. was it too tight?
This was probably due to it being too tight you should have a small gap between you and the quilt. If you had too much of a diagonal lay that could also cause it.
@@TaysonWhittaker thank you for the reply!
Hey there! I use a bridge hammock, do your underquilts fit bridge hammocks?
Thanks
Yes they do
Waaaay to complicated…….
Lol “We are sorry for the focus in this video but it was due to low light” hilarious you do realize that low light has absolutely nothing to do with low light or light at all... if your camera man doesn’t know this then he seriously is out of his league. Low light will only effect the quality of the image by making it grainy and contrasty due it having to bump up the iso in camera. The statement did give me a good chuckle with my morning coffee
Your chuckle was due to the feeling of superiority of knowledge, you weren’t laughing with them you were laughing at them. Imagine the different ways you could of approached this. You could of 1. Said it the way you did and come off as an arrogant know it all, guaranteed to never form a decent relationship with anyone here. Or B word it slightly differently maybe like “hey usually low light won’t hurt the focus, it creates a grainy contrast due to increased iso. If you try playing with focus a little more you should be able to get a good focus even in low light”. Notice how you still get to share your vast knowledge without sounding like a tool and telling someone they are out of their league? Idk man your comment was just rude for literally no reason
@@mikec7373 yeah, and incorrect. Low light does affect auto focus, just not manual focus. It also makes manual focussing more difficult to check if your camera doesn’t have focus peaking. There are many reasons that low light can and does affect focus, so the chuckle was undeserved.
