The TD - “Trade Dependent” - visa allows the spouse or children (under age 21) of the qualified TN holder to relocate to the United States. While holding this visa, recipients may attend school. However, they are not permitted to be employed within the United States.
Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 can obtain a principal derivative (TD) visa, but are conditional on not accepting employment in the United States. They are granted a TD visa and are considered non-immigrants.

Hola, soy Mexicano y trabajo en USA con una visa TN, me casé hace un par de meses y ahora mi esposa solicitará la visa TD. En la entrevista que tendrá en la embajada (en Mérida) le van a pedir la carta de trabajo (que me dieron a mi) en original?. Pregunto porque la original me la quitaron cuando yo fui a solicitar la visa TN. Supongo que le van a pedir una copia, pero no la original. Estoy en lo correcto?
I have a friend who over stayed more than a year but less than two year allowed on her I-94. She's a Canadian citizen. But like to re enter US for a visit. Does she needs to apply for a waiver? Thanks, Dan
Hi , I have a tn VISA . my wife crossed the border (CANADA) to join me in the US and asked to have a TD Status.. She provided ,my marriage license , a photocopy of my TN Stamp and a copy my I-94... The officer looked at the documents did some computer check and said " ok you are good to go ". Well i am not sure it has been done correctly ... Don't they have to pu a I-94 in her passport? I do not want her to have issues (overstay) on her passport.. because i am here for a while ... can i regulate that ... it kind of worrying me now!!!! Thanks

You will need to wait until the consulates open up to give you the visa

Yes she will need to apply for a TD visa once your TN is granted

Can a TD visa holder work remotely/online for their Canadian employer? If you're getting paid Canadian money, to a Canadian bank account, and the company serves only Canadian customers, and has no subsidiaries in the United States? Would this cover it?

I have had the same question three months ago, my husband spoke to the attorney who took care of our application and they confirmed that I can't work for anyone under a TD visa while I am living in the US. So I gave up my work, although it was an online job!
