My daddy got me in the tub with him and taught me two lessons in the tub. Side note: I’m the youngest of five sons and one daughter from my mom and dad. I was about 5 or 6 and my dad got me in the run taught me how to wash and clean myself and the told me this: “I’m the only man you will ever take a bath with. You will never get in another tub with another man who isn’t me.” I’m 64 yo now and I have never forgotten that from that day to this and even at that young age if innocent somehow I knew and understood what that bath was all about. I love my dad. Some lessons are too deep to be “hands-off, and left to others. Sons must have their dads.

That's how I did my 2 children until age of 5 and started let them do it. I tell them all the important areas on the body that needs to be washed thoroughly and always wash up twice and always use 2 different wash cloths for your body and important hidden areas and parts and properly how to shampoo and conditioner their hair and rinse off all soap.
I literally watch this be done at my friends house. Both parents throw 3 kids in the tub to sit and play with the toys.
They are 4, 6, and 7. Not once do they clean or teach them how to wash up.
This goes for learning how to brush their teeeth or potty train. Shit is tragic to watch.

No your parents do have a responsibility to teach you proper hygiene (entire body/hair/mouth/feet/hands), when you are a child. Then as you get older, you pick up tips and tricks from others that you incorporate in your routine to enhance your hygiene. Believe me, the kids that I know parents whom did not teach them on how to properly bathe, as adults suffered the consequences 😢.

I'm almost 30 and my sons are 14 and 11. I sat 'en down and talked to them about how they had to thoroughly clean, what I call the "Upside down triangle" and their necks, : both armpits, their jewels and, and they're behind. And I told them bird washing wasn't going to do it no more. So I agree with her. Secondly there are sick ppl in this world, indeed. I was S.A. 3 times as a lil boy, the first-when I was 7. The second-by my a female cousin a few months later, 3rd was the next year by a woman in our church that my family and I trusted, that's beautiful and could have puled any grown man so. Afterwards til now, i still can't understand why she did what she did and manipulate me mentally telling me that since "partook un a act that only grown ppl were supposed to. But God would forgive if i repented and promised to never tell anyone". I was scared and ashamed to tell anyone, I buried that shi for 13-14 years. When I was senior in high school and my wife and I were broken up yet again. My vocational sub teacher.... I'll put it this way, she took a liking to me. We secretly started doing.....some serious stuff together. I went to Vocational school from morning til lunchtime and my high school for the rest of the day. And my school was like 25/30 minutes away. I stopped going on the bus back to my high-school and started riding with her and at first thongs were touchy feely, which lead into making out with each other after pulling over to the Sparky's truck lot on the way to my high-school. Which turned into..going their with it and she did teach me a lot and did somethings that I had only seen on p.rnhub, or redtube, or xvideos, etc. I didn't know until years later in therapy when I had a ptsd episode when a movie triggered the memory of the first time I was S.A'd. I didn't know until my therapist told me, how wrong it was for my 26 year old sub teacher to do what we did. When I was technically still a minor. That's why I guard over my children and watch them. Trying to prevent them from going through shi their mother/my wife and I went through as kids. Bcz they're are predators outchea that more and more are popping up.

As a father of a son and daughter, I taught my kids when they were babies how to clean themselves and by the time they were in elementary school they knew how to wash and clean themselves. My daughter would take 3 showers a day (in the morning before school, when she came home from school and before bed) and my son was in the shower twice. Neither of them ever had a problem with bad body odor.

So she always wanted to smell fresh even if she was just sitting around the house. She's 18 and in nursing school, and I couldn't be a prouder father. Unlike my former step daughter, my daughter was never teased for having bad body odor.

The last time i had to bathe my son, he was 11. I talked to him about how to clean throughout time. So when i came into the bathroom, i told him to cover his midsection. HE is going to clean that area. I am going to talk and clean everywhere else because he's not doing it right. When it was time for him to, I turned my back and told him what to do. I did all of my children the same way. I respected them and their privacy, yet I still had to give hands-on instructions from time to time.
When I was 8 my grandmother would make my brother and I only use white towels. Every single time we got out the shower and dried off she checked our towels. If that towel wasn’t still cocaine white after we were finished, she would make us get back in the shower. My stepmother would be like “did you wash your hair?” When we said yes, she’d walk up on us and smell for the shampoo, she would also smell under our arms. I hated it when I was young, but today I am extremely grateful for those blessings. I do the same with my youngins. I will say, tons of young men don’t have hands on guidance and just lack the proper way to be fresh and clean. My dad actually taught us how to clean ourselves in regard to taking a shower, but the women in my life enforced it.

I bathed my son from birth to about 6/7. You don't wait til their in their teens to show them how to do ANYTHING. Its an ongoing learning/teaching experience from birth.
I stopped assisting my grandson with bathing when he was four years old. It was important that he knew how to do it himself because we didn’t want ANYONE assisting him if he went to a sleepover. We took away any excuse for someone else (who is not close family) to see him nude or touch his private parts. Now he’s almost six and all he needs is a little prompting. I may wash his back, but he can handle the rest.
My mom and pops taught me how to bathe myself. No they weren’t in the bathroom with me , but we definitely sat down and discussed the proper way.
One wash rag for the face, one for the body, one towel, one use, toss in laundry. Lather rag, wipe everything including balls and taint. Let soap sit for at least a minute, rinse thoroughly , dry, apply lotion. It’s not hard . It’s sad how many people don’t teach the kids this stuff . I was like four when my parents thought me this.

My mother & my father taught me the proper way. I guess some parents just didn't know how to approach that situation. When I was 4 & 5 they were washing me up 1st all the while talking & explaining to me HOW to do it. They stood there at 7 & 8 to make sure i scrubbed myself the right way & hard. They took the time out until I was able to do it the correct way. Some parents just don't do what needs to be done

Now I grew up without my father, he died right before I turned 1. On his death bed he asked my Uncle to raise me like a son and he did. When I was in elementary school my Uncle showed me how to bathe properly as a male. He never touched me inappropriately and that same Uncle was my father's brother in law that basically raised him. I adopted a kid when he was 10, unfortunately he wasn’t fully potty trained and couldn’t wash himself properly. After smelling him for a while and allowing him to settle in I then asked if he was comfortable with me in the bathroom while he showered. After explaining why, his solution was for him to wear swim trunks while I showed him how to properly wash certain areas over his trunks. I left the room and then he tried for himself…took awhile but he got there ❤

Pedophilia aside (no mention of this age/age difference which is disturbing): She's right but you start EARLY--teaching children to properly name their body parts as they bathe. You do this repeatedly from age 2-8 years old, when children have the MOST questions AND this when parents should answer them! You do this to teach anatomy, how to bathe, even to wipe per using the bathroom, and to create a safe space for children to discuss what's happening with their bodies, especially around puberty. You also teach very young children ownership over their own bodies, empowerment within their bodies, AND how to tell other adults what parts of the body where violated when dealing with pedophiles. This is an opportunity to also teach appropriate and inappropriate forms of touch, such as when a 30-something attempts to hook up with your 14-year-old child. SMDH.

When my boys were toddlers at 3 and 4 years old, I showed them how to properly wash and bathe. As they became teenagers, they got verbal coaching. I never had to complain about dirty underwear or stanky bodies.
I teach my kids how to properly clean themselves around 3/4 and they are doing it pretty well without help or guidance at 6/7. Same with brushing teeth. You gotta get them doing it right from the beginning so when it really matters they are already prepared to get it done. I hope Brandy was taught better. This is wild.

They will go into the bathroom and fake it and in a lot of these cases they were taught to clean themselves, they just don’t want to. I had a brother who went through that phase, one of my nieces and one of my nephews went through that phase. Fortunately they all grew out of it by their middle to late teens.

I think some boys and girls go through a phase of not cleaning properly despite what they were taught. Me and my brother were both taught how to clean ourselves properly and our house. My brother still went through a “nasty” phase and got in trouble a lot around 13-14 for not cleaning himself or his room properly.
