    We had a few requests to make a video fishing shallow on the pole, so its what we done... we racked our brains and thought where we be a good place to do it... our answer was Barford lakes! One of Norfolks finest match complexes and probably Norfolks most famous commercial fishery!
    We fished a lake known as Willow, which is crammed full of F1's as well as many larger fish, its a long thin lake with a great head of fish. Opting for peg 18 down the far end of the lake we started fishing and soon started to put a nice net of fish together... You can check out the results in this video...
    We hope you enjoy it, and any feedback much appreciated.
    Cheers FromTheWatersEdgeTV

    Hi Tiberseptim, for poles I wouldn't really look too much further than Daiwa! They make some excellent bits of kit! Look at the Daiwa Team Daiwa XR range... they offer a selection of poles in different price brackets and packages. The best thing to do is head to your local tackle shop and get the feel of one. As you may be spending a large amount of money they should be willing to help. Hope this helps a little. Cheers and tight lines.

    Hi Szeeky, that sounds like a specimen Carp lake! If so I would use boilies in sizes 14mm, 16mm, 18mm or 20mm and fish them on size 6-10 hooks. Just match the boilie size and hook together.

    Hi Ryan, personally I now use double elastics, I used to use hollow elastic but found some too 'stretchy' however it's all down to personal preference really! It may be worth experimenting with this to see what you prefer!

    Start feeding pellets little and often, keep working and working at in, fish all through the water column. If you can get a bite try fishing on the deck, as obviously all the feed pellets will have settled there.

    @FromTheWatersEdgeTV  Před 11 lety

    Hi pellet and corn, all these little extra's featured in the video should help bank a few extra fish. I not sure there is anything 'extra special' for catching up in the water. If the fish are in front of you, the conditions are correct and you feed properly and work the water column, hopefully you should catch! :-)

    Oh ok, thanks! the lake is actually fairly deep, im often fishing off the surface when i get carp feeding, but apart from that im just going deep with floats, i need a leger badly.:D Pretty sure that it's specimen water, and i have caught i few things off of corn, but have also heard dog food is a good bait?? But apart from all that thankss!!!:)

    Heyy,, I've just started fishing, and at the local lakes there is carp ranging from 2lb to 20lb, what hook size and bait/feed would you reccommend? Nice fish by the way! Thanks.

  • @FromTheWatersEdgeTV
    @FromTheWatersEdgeTV  Před 10 lety

    Hi mate, it depends on what the lake is like, is it a specimen water or a match water? As that size range is pretty vast... perhaps fish with something like a size 12 hook, small enough for small fish, yet big enough for larger fish. As far as baits go, there isnt many Carp that don't eat things like Pellets, Boilies and Corn, so this might be a good place to start! :-)

    Do you prefer double or hollow elastics
    or does it depend on the fishery and the conditions

      @FromTheWatersEdgeTV  Před 9 lety

      superhunter992 Hi Matt, best thing to do is, to take it in your local tackle shop and see if they will help elasticate it, or point you in the right direction. If not search on CZcams or Google and see what comes up, it will be so much clearer and easier to understand than me trying to type an explanation. Hope thats ok and good luck!
