On Day 2 of collecting fish in the Amazon basin, we found ourselves wading in nearly waist-deep mud at one location and ended up catching a ton of fish via the seine net at another location, such as corydoras, Geophagus cichlids, and whiptail catfish. Every year during Peru's dry season (roughly May to October), the waterways recede and we found many fish stranded on dry land. On Day 3, we used dip nets to catch squeaking catfish and seine fishing to search for Amazon puffers. Find out who tripped in the water and who got hit by a jumping fish.

Absolutely
Yes
pH, nitrates, temp., tds... none of that 🙁
YES!
I would for sure!
Somehow Cory almost getting swallowed up by the earth makes me feel like spending $6.99 for an aquarium fish isn't that bad.
This has some animal planet/Jeff corwin feeling to it. Back when animal planet had actual shows about animals
yea ...
LOL
Those where the days
Ya same here ..
us: constantly monitoring water parameters
fish: this muddy pond is perfect
Suddenly my bacterial bloom seems quite insignificant :)
They didn't test for any parameters. Clear water is abnormal and it would've been nice to see the conditions like nitrates and pH
Watch previous trips, we’ve done that. Essentially no nitrates and ph is most often 6.8 to 7.2
@@AquariumCoop okay thank you. I thought one of the purposes was to learn more about fish, and having no habitat data on this trip was disappointing to me. A lost opportunity that doesn't come often.
Personally, I'd want more data unless you're going to all the same places as before... even then the more the merrier. Idea if you haven't done so is keep a record map of where you went, when and note the water and air conditions would be really informative to show me imo.
I appreciate what you and your team do for us bringing those videos
Shout out to Jimmy for his epic editing skills, turning fish vids into art (as always)!
I like watching cory in his natural habitat so relaxed
I think booking the entire ship made for less stress. The guys seemed to be more relaxed this trip -and what great attitudes while pushing through all that muck. Truly great videos to watch -THANK YOU for sharing!!
That shot that Dean took of Cory in the water 😂
“I love the water!”
Like, I need it on a shirt. Very memable.
I want a sticker of just Corey floating with his head and feet sticking up out of the water. That shot was GOLD! Lol
Lol YESSS
Waiting now for that 3hr uncut footage, love this kinda stuff! (this is genuine even though I'm sure that was a joke. Maybe on more aquarium co-op?) Idk I would love to watch and I doubt I'm alone :3
I would definitely get side tracked by things like the leaf cutter ants. Very cool guys
That’s entertainment! Y’all found a new species of mudskipper. It’s the Co-Op Skipper. LOL.
Lol, I like that
Seems like Cory spends 90% of his time just floating in warm Amazonian water. Haha awesome editing, Jimmy.
Oh man, now I understand why you spent so much time training for this trip! That's a lot of hard physical work even getting to and from the collection sites!
Thanks Cory and everyone at AC. I found you about 3 months back and have enjoyed going back though the library. Lots of great fun and educational info.
I really like these trip videos to see where a lot of these fish come from like Peru and and fish farms around the world.
Oh, and greats products to.
I miss Cory's fishroom tours of other breeders and farms.
Me too, COVID is starting to let the world open again.
The sinking in the mud is hilarious! I bet that was the biggest workout ever.
IRL, if you are walking alone, it can be really scary. They made it look a lot easier to get out than it is irl.
"Hey, Dean! You look real cool! Try not to fall over." LOL!!!!!!!!!
Really cool to see these species in a mud puddle :)
Cory, coke was sold with real cane sugar and in recyclable bottles just like those in Peru when I was a kid. You could see stamps for the individual bottling plants - one was in my town growing up. Wish we still did that, much more eco friendly.
My home town in Canada had a glass pop bottle refilling plant too. We would take our empties back, go in and help find rejects and they would give us a bottle each for free. Highlight of a summer weekend.
i grew up in southern USA. Glass bottles were the ONLY bottles for soda. Yep, I'm that old! All the schools took field trips to the bottling plants. Lots of fun!!
Amazing!! What a workout!! No wonder, Cory was tired after he got back home! Oh, and I thought quicksand was invented by Hollywood for Gilligan's Island!🤣❤
Mud wrestling and fish collecting! I have to move to the US and go for these Amazon trips!
Yes another awesome video, you guys rock!!! I jave a aquarium coop theme tank I'm working on cant wait to show you. I have a few more orders to place through you and then I'll be done!!!
You need to post pics in the Forum!!!
It’s a good day when aquarium coop posts a video.
The biggest problem with a trip like this would be NOT taking everything home...
I agree
Watching this with my family in our “60 tv it’s so awesome to see dudes having fun while searching for exotic fishes. I would love to experiences this.
I was so worried you guys would get stuck in the mud forever - but yeah I've watched livestreams so I know you made it, but it did bring back that latent fear of quicksand!
So much diversity in one place! 😍
The squeaker was cute! …. Was like “ what the hell dood ! “ great vid everyone looked soo happy x x
Enjoy the longer travel posts...thanks guys!
Man, you guys are living my dream!
Your channel better than TV
The ant song is the best part 😂😂 this was a great video y’all!!!
Whenever I go to new places like that , I tie bright ribbons to trees, or make arrows with mud or twigs to find my way back if its too overgrown to see where the sun is, and for the creepy deep mud i make something like big snow shoes , like even short planks of wood tied to your shoes so I dont get stuck, and always take a rope
I love to go back and see this documentations
Looking forward to see more peru videos at some point. Thank you aquarium co op
Incredible video, fantastic work from Jimmy editing the many hours of footage and audio. And thank you to everyone that was involved in the trip to provide us with this content! You're efforts are greatly appreciated!
Oh man. I forgot about the mud.
2 minutes in and digging it all ready. Jimmy killed the editing, solid work team! It looks like so much fun. :)
Can't get enough of these video's!
Amazing content as always. So cool to see what y’all find. And the jokes and mud are always a good time. I think if y’all didn’t laugh ya would cry with the mud trying to eat y’all. 😂
Wow! That was some serious mud, no doubt 😎
Y'all remind me of a bunch of 8-10 y/old boys...Awesome! 💕👍
Amazing to see these habitats that these fish come from. What a great experience! Thanks for sharing it.
Such hard work to bring fish into the aquarium hobby! The mud would not be fun to me. You guys are awesome!
Gotta love those all natural spa packages. Thank you for sharing your adventures... Misadventures? Really like the labeled camera switch editing.
Thanks for sharing, loved it, wish I was there, Amazing.
Loved the scene with all the fish jumping over the net!! Cudos to Jimmy for the fantastic editing!!
Holy mud!! Waist-high mud is no joke!!!
Love seeing this. I used to collect fish the same way here in Maine when I was a kid. I would love to see footage of you guys sorting out and photographing all the fish you kept.
Was amazing to see. Thanks for taking us along. I can't begin to imagine how hard that must have been moving in the mud like that. I've been stuck in waist deep wet snow, but I'm betting that mud sucks you in.
Loving the Peru videos and Jimmy has some wicked good editing skills!!!
Cory you look relaxed
Randy is LEGITNESS!
I love the friendship you all share!
That is dedication to get to fish, rolling through the mud. This is not for your casual hobbyist.
Jimmy your editing skills are just outstanding. Loved the zelda sounds effects! Thanks for sharing this adventure with us!
First time and no cast net Banana...! Congrats, it's not as easy as it looks...! Keep up your awesomeness and go enjoy some nature today...!
Think I’ll watch that again for the editing, amazing work Jimmy !
Thank your for sharing your adventure
When jimmy put the interstellar music as an undertone when Cory was talking about mud over his knees, I almost shed a tear😥🤌🏼
Wow! Awesome video guys!
I had no idea the conditions there were THIS intense! Thanks for the content Co-Op!
That was a young yellow-spotted river turtle and they are listed listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN, just one level below Endangered. They are Vulnerable because these species are used for trade and food by some residential or native people. But seeing a young one is a great indication that their are breeding populations in that area of Peru.
Yea!!! Another Peru video!!
I have to say I got a very good laugh this morning, nothing like wallowing in the mud! You guys are seriously dedicated!!!
I’ve been waiting for this one!!
Awesome video and those scenic views where so amazingly Beautiful ❤️
love it love it love it, i really love these kind of videos
Great editing Jimmy! Loved the video!
Great video - most videos in jungle water involve big snakes, alligators and/or crocodiles! Isn't there a little fish that likes to swim up your urine stream? Brave group - thank you for the video!!
Awesome video!!
Awsome video guy's looks like a blast! I cant wait to see all the Corydoras you caught.
looks like a fun trip! look up mud pattens, could make some of those muddy areas easier to navigate, and simple enough that they could be constructed on-site instead of flown in, cheers!
I’ll check that out. Long time no see
That is one awesome video! Love it lol
This video was amazing man, great job! PS: more of this please!!!!
Yellow Spotted River Turtle (Podocnemis unifilis) such a cool find!
How amazing!
Amazing puffer fishing
So Awesome what a fun trip
Wish there was a way to Like multiple times in a video. Would be smashing that button all through alot of Co op videos but this one was GREAT! Looks tough but what an experience!
That's what I call havin some serious fun. Nice
Cory and Co. Know how to make a video. This video has everything for anyone. Thanks Cory
Great video! It was really entertaining; having 4 gopros really made it like a TV show!
Wow looks like so much fun
Jeez that looks exhausting, good work fellas
I love the coke segment
Good afternoon friend

Love it! Want more :3 Wish i could go too!!
16:03. It used to be that way in America. All the bottles were worn. We got 5 cents apiece for the ones we could find. With you all the way on that one Cory.
Love it!
Thats some content upgrade 👏
You all are a trip amazing video 📹 ❤ 🙌
On average what would you say the survival rate of the fish you bring back is? Are there certain fish that just can't take the stress? Great video!
This trip of the 299 fish we shipped back we lost 3 in shipping. This isn't always the case but we were happy with the results this time.
@@deansfishroom Thanks for the reply! That's an excellent number. I would have expected a much higher loss rate. It's pretty amazing how tough fish can be. Take care!
great to see u guys back in the saddle again :) Michael looked well too :)
Hope you are doing well.
Edit game coming through STRONG 🔥
Deans not looking to flash hot lol
WOW
just wow
