How to Clean Your Bissel Ready Clean Carpet Cleaner

  • This is a video that I've been wanting to do ever since I received a comment on another video about taking apart the Bissel Ready Clean Carpet Cleaner.
    A while I ago, I did a product review video for the Bissel Ready Clean. Which you can view right HERE:
    • BISSELL ReadyClean Pow...
    The comment I received was from a viewer who had taken theirs apart for cleaning, and was having a hard time getting it back together. I decided that I should shoot a video of my cleaning process then next time I use the machine to help people see how I do it.
    I'm not going to sugar coat this- Cleaning out this machine is a bit gross. I pick a lot of wads of lint and pet hair out with my fingers. It's not hard, but it isn't pleasant either. But beyond that, it's mostly a matter of rinsing all the parts inside and out, then putting it back together.
    I also make it a point to give a bit of a warning about dumping the waste water- do it outside. Do NOT dump this in your toilet or basement drain or slop sink! The MASSIVE amount of hair and lint absolutely WILL block your sewer line and you'll end up having to have your lines opened up by a rooter service. No JOKE!
    What I don't mention in this video is that in the winter, I still dump the waste water outside. I rinse the parts in a slop sink, but I don't let the hair go into the drain. I use a strainer to collect the hair and throw it away so it doesn't end up in my sewer lines.
    I hope this video is helpful! Thanks for watching!

    I had a problem water not coming out. I had to raise the handle up and make sure to turn the washer to lock position on the bottom of the handle . I clean mine everytime I use it . It's about 7 years old and still works like new

    Thank you for the video. when I put it back together, now it wont suck the water back out. HELP!!

    • @ClayCarlino
      @ClayCarlino  Před 4 lety

      Oh no! Well it sounds like something isn't seated correctly. Ideally all the parts should go back together without much difficulty. But if something doesn't go back just right, the seals won't line up and you won't get suction. Also it may be that something got in between a couple parts when re-assembling the thing.
      I can tell you from experience that I've had times when I didn't have that piece in the front clicked into the hinges correctly and had the same problem.
      My recommendation is to take it back apart slowly and with each part you remove, check to make sure its fitting in exactly as its supposed to. Then put it back together and try again. Even if you don't find a smoking gun, sometimes just taking it apart and putting it back together fixes the issue.
      Let me know how it goes. Good luck!

    Clayton I removed the roller brush from my Bissil carpet cleaner to clean it. Now I can't put it back together. Help!

    • @ClayCarlino
      @ClayCarlino  Před 4 lety +1

      Okay. So just to confirm , it looks like you had to unscrew the belt cover to take the brush off. Is that what you did?

    • @ClayCarlino
      @ClayCarlino  Před 4 lety +1

      Actually, I just decided to pull out my carpet cleaner and shoot a quick phone video showing how to take the brush out and put it back in. Here's the link:

      I really hope it helps! If not, feel free to comment back with any other questions. Good luck!

    😭😭😭 I got a new Powerforce power brush Carpet shampooer no water coming out the back tank

    • @ClayCarlino
      @ClayCarlino  Před 2 lety

      Oh no! I’m not familiar with the power force cleaner, but the things I would check are:
      1.) make sure the tank is seated correctly. Sometimes these thing seem like they are in, but there’s maybe an extra little bit that it has to go, or a twist or something.
      2. Make sure it wasn’t shipped with some kind of sacrificial plugs or protective film, tape or plastic do-dads. They sometimes have all sorts of weird stuff attached to the parts and if you don’t find all of them, stuff doesn’t work. That includes any taper or whatnot on the tank itself. There could be something there specifically to keep it’s valves from opening unless removed before use. 3.) check the tank cap. Again, I’m not familiar with this particular machine, but many have a tank that is really just a bottle with a screw on cap that has a special valve built into the cap. The valve stays closed until the bottle is placed in the machine upside down where the receptacle it goes into has a peg that opens the valve and allows fluid to flow. If the valve isn’t working or the peg is broken, no water comes out.
      That’s all I can think of. If you have any more questions, let me know. I’ll try to help out! Thanks for watching and thanks for commenting!

    why do you look younger than the video when you just purchased machine?😱

    • @ClayCarlino
      @ClayCarlino  Před 2 lety

      It’s the beard! Which ultimately was why I shaved it off. I got tired of looking in the mirror and seeing an old man! Ha ha. It really is true though. The beard made me look at least 10 years older.
