When doing grooming with my dogs I ask them to lay on their side. If they want to get up and walk away that's fine with me. I've found my fosters take to this form of grooming really quickly when they see my other dogs doing it. So the trick of having comfortable dogs around really does work I think. I do struggle with liquid in the ear for both my dogs. I always warm it up to my own body temp first, but haven't figured out a way to make that more tolerable.
