She got so many standing ovations- you could not keep seated- her voice was just incredible. It literally shook the theatre. I think Winner in You was her best album and her peak vocally.

The entire special was an incredible historical moment in music history with so many legends sharing their talents amongst peers. In fact, you'll notice Roberta Flack admiring Patti's performance at the end. Well, just a couple of years before this performance, Ms. Flack called up Ms. Labelle and invited her to take her place on the Johnny Carson show back in 1984. She wanted the world to witness her friend's talent so she graciously stepped aside to give Patti her slot. I love that degree of camaraderie and respect in the music industry and this video is a great reminder of how special it is for great talents to love on each other.
