In the past other singers didn't want to sing with her because they felt she was trying to show them up. There have even been times when they would turn her microphone down so she wouldn't drown out other performers. And you are absolutely right, Patti is the quintessential power house singer. There are a lot of powerful singers, but Patti is in a class by herself. And no one could touch her. There are powerful singers and then there is Patti Labelle.
