Bonus content is usually some fun and interesting moments that didn't really fit into the story/idea of an episode. Bonus content is from the same timeline as an episode but just doesn't fit.
Deleted content was cut to make an episode shorter. 😊

I’m not entirely sure myself, but I do know that the “blue light” is also a thing in Japan. Apparently in Japanese 青い(aoi- blue) was the ‘original’ color, because 緑 (midori - green) was introduced into the language later. I guess originally they linguistically considered blue & green to be the same and didn’t create a separate word until much later. Although with Japan their blue/green lights are actually more visually blue than green so I’m not sure 😅
Actually I just looked it up & this was the answer given: National Institute of Korean Language answered, “The reason why the green light of the traffic lights is not called the green light but the blue light seems to be because the people perceive the blue light as a relative color concept to the red light.” - so I guess it has to do with the 3 primary colors & their relativity
Sorry this got so long - I love languages! 고맙습니다 💜

I don't know if they've ever talk about regretting being called "bangtan sonyeondan". I know that RM referenced them being ridiculed for their name in one their song "We're Bulletproof: The Eternal". Nowadays they've been joking that they're no longer "sonyeondan" so they should be called Bangtan Grandpas or something. Overall, I think the name suits them, and the name of the fandom "army" really matches with the name BTS. The most common name to call them is obviously BTS but I see a lot of people referring to them as "bangtan" or cutely "tannies".
Edit: oh, and they never changed it to BTS, the acronym was there from the beginning. Actually, in 2010, so when only RM was in BigHit, the trainees released a song called WE ARE B.P.B., which changed to "we're bulletproof pt.1" and got re-released with current bts members. That "we are B.P.B" song was by RM, Iron and Supreme Boi. So there was possibility for them to be called BulletProof Boy scouts or B.P.B but they've changed it. Thankfully, because I like BTS better.

I believe RM is very proud now of their name. In 2022 Bangtan Dinner he said that even though everyone calls them BTS, to him they are Bangtan.

I could be wrong but I think I saw Jhope? Say that they were initially embarrassed to introduce themselves as Bangtan sonyedan. I think it had to do more with the hate people threw at them for the name tho and not bc they themselves didn’t like the name.
And I think “BTS” has more to do with international fans shortening their name to make it easier

According to member J-Hope, the name signifies the group's desire "to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets". So, I personally think they liked their name because of what it meant and signified and what they were trying to talk about in their music and actions. I mean their music from the start shared society pressures, their own experiences/thoughts, etc. From the beginning they encouraged people to find their dream and fight for it and not go along with what everyone else (including adults) to us to do. I personally never not liked their name because of what it meant. Everything with BTS has so much depth and meaning and thought put into it.
I do know that at the beginning of their careers they got a lot of hate and criticism for their name, but to me it didn't seem like they were ashamed of it...but idk I wasn't with them from the beginning and only has seen small clips of them in the past so far.
Edit: BTS never changed their name. It still has always been Bangtan Sonyeondan, but I think to make it easier for everyone (especially the west) they just shortened it to BTS. Like others have said they did add onto/extend their name and its meaning with Beyond the Scene but honestly the boys/ARMY kind of pretend that Beyond the Scene was ever added. During an interview with Jimmy Fallon a question was asked what BTS means, and RM said, "BTS stand for Bangtan Sonyeondan not Behind the Scenes, I mean for your information."

Ive never heard of that tidbit about Koreans saying blue light instead of green light. I wonder if the first traffic light(s) had a blue-ish tone to the green light and it just stuck.
You're so right. They all had such baby faces here in their pre-debut days. JK joined at 13 and Jimin was about 16 during this time so the understandable that they'd seem so young. Yoongi did mention that his dad was similar in terms of not being openly affectionate in the usual way and he turned out the same. Didn't realize it was a common Daegu trait lol. Taehyung is such a polar opposite. He wants the tell everyone how much he loves them and cuddle his friends, serandade them with love songs and just keep showing that he cares. And it's interesting because even though they show their love in different ways, I've never doubted that both of our Daeugu boys adore the rest of Bangtan deeply. 😊😊 They're both sweethearts in their own ways. Suga does get a reputation for being "cold and distant" for new fans at first but people eventually see his warmth.

For me, even as a 45 yo, I think if a young band came out as Bulletproof Boy Scouts I would think it was cool. It's different, edgy but also soft and innocent. It would intrigue me, I think. At least, for me personally, I have wondered why they were teased so much for their name... Maybe it's just me.

In hindsight, a genius move. At the time, it just sounded so different to others. Korea has no guns so bullet proof I guess didn't resonate with people of that time.

@@komerican-og That totally makes sense. There isn't much gun violence in Canada (at least not when I was growing up), but at the same time bulletproof vests, etc are worn by cops so I guess it's not such a foreign concept for us, and combining that idea with boy scouts, for me sounds fresh and fun. I'd be interested in knowing if other North
American would agree with me or it it's just me.

@BrillantTina Oh, another factoid that might help. In Korea, Boyscout is called bo yi skout. In English pronounciation. So Nyun Dan is a somewhat archaic word that is not used much. I at least never heard of a club or a gathering of boys being called that. Sonyun means boys and Dan means a group, so people get it but never really heard it being used. That might be one of the reasons it might have sounded weird for many Koreans. For some reason, I just realized that myself reading your comment.
