ALL NEW! This may have been the slowest, longest credit crawl in the history of the program. They go through the theme nearly twice. Note the retaped summer fee plugs.
Ian Sherman To give extra points to Anthony, networks are giving more plug time to promote their shows. I.E. Price is Right and Let's Make A Deal, the only network game shows in the daytime, rush their endings to give CBS a chance to promote their show(s, providing a long credit close) that won't come on a few days from either game show's air date at the end. Think of this: If GSN didn't change in 2002-'03, we can still listen to the game shows' themes that we love to enjoy. Nowadays, you can find FremantleMedia shows, with their fees and closings, on Buzzzr.
the only other place I can think of the series finale of Jim Perry's "Card Sharks" where the credits rolled extremely slowly.
I always liked how, on the Barry-Enright shows, the wardrobe credit would be "Mr. __________'s wardrobe provided by Botany 500." Very classy.
smittykins I can say Botany '500' was the best wardrobe to wear in the late 70s and in the 80s
GSN did have its good points during 1998-1999. Cullen TJW 7 days a week right after Tic Tac Dough.
Some polite rhythmic clapping from the audience
Yup. Some of the audience was canned during the clapping IE there was half clapping, Half canned applause.
Off course, in today's (2011) time, the credit sequence would be edited out completely.
I agree with you, Jill Valentine, my true love. I do love the closing credits very much.
When's the last time you saw game show credits roll for exactly one minute long?
I asked myself the same question
@bdaddyn678 And that's the trouble with TV today--the networks don't want to waste anyone's time anymore.
