- Former Arsenal and Germany hero Jens Lehmann becomes the first-ever goalkeeper to step into the What I Wore dressing room, in partnership with Classic Football Shirts.
Speaking to Andrew Mensah, Lehmann talks through his illustrious playing career, starting at Schalke, which eventually led to him being part of Arsenal's famous invincible team of 2003/04, and his country's number one keeper.

Mad Jens Lehmann he would slap about his own defenders! What a team we had, by far my fave keeper!!
Truthfully he was the best keeper we ever had. The elite mindset this dude had was unreal. He’d rip his defenders apart for letting in goals even when we would be winning.
Always thought he was annoying on the pitch. BUT after hearing him speak now, he is a very likeable character.
I miss having Lehmann under our goalposts. He took us all the way to the UCL final back in 2006, and not to mention he was super consistent during the Invincibles season. A bonafide Gunners legend!
Great player, Lehmann really was the reason why Arsenal went 49 games unbeaten. ( And I say that as a United fan!)
Goalies are a different breed, they are bonkers. Lehmann takes this up to another gear!

He can be difficult to put up with on a daily basis and also has a short temper. But on his day, he's the sweetest guy around :)
Crazy that Germany had Kopke, Khan, Klos and Lehman as goalkeepers together for many years, so much so Klos never actually got a cap.

as an arsenal fan it hurts anytime i hear or see the 06 ucl final .. we didnt concede a goal whole way through and if lehman was never sent off and pires stayed on . we would have won that game . hurts bad as an arsenal fan
Arsenal still conceded a couple in the tournament in general it's just Lehmann hadn't.
Also, Arsenal always complain about decisions even they've had luck. If Arsenal would've won 1-0 that decision to not give the Barca goal would've been controversial. Not to mention Arsenal's goal was from a wrongly awarded free-kick.
It's like when Thierry Henry scored an offside brace vs ManUtd then at full-time they're still complaining to officials because they could only draw 2-2. I can imagine if that was my team I'd try to keep the topic of decisions queit I'd be too embarrassed and just expect that if I did bring it up it would be countered straightaway. But Arsenal don't seem to have any shame lol
So painful as an Arsenal fan to see that red card in the CL final. To think we were that close to winning the CL.
