      @@finnheisenheim8274 That is because the people that say they wont, feel even more guilt and despair when they feel like doing it, which in turn makes them that much less likely to seek help when they need it most. The denial that one is in despair can often times be more harmful than the despair itself.

      @@theprophecy3732 that was house's hypothesis because he believed that kutner had no reason to kill himself. The show itself never specified whether or not kutner's death was suicide, but after the series ended, the writers of the show confirmed that kutner did indeed kill himself.

    This guy was the most accurate parallel to house. We know House not only was into sports but athletic as well. He even tried to skateboard after his legs healed and was a cheerleader in college.
    And we know after his leg he got worse than whatever he was before.
    This guy relates more to House's situation than anyone else.

      Shows he's thought about it, and when having a good day, came to the conclusion he wouldn't do it. Because his life sucked from the beginning so he can only go up. Which you may note is...a very negative reasoning.

    For anyone confused, I don’t think the kid meant it as “I want him to die.”
    I think it was more of the kid thinking that his dad was in so much pain, so that way if he died it meant he wouldn’t feel the pain anymore. The kid must’ve thought that it would make him somewhat better, even thought it was gonna kill him.

      Nah. Could have also been that kid is immensely distressed by all that's happened and the fact that his father told him to his face that he want's to die. That would make any kid brutally confused and hopeless. Might also make the kid spiteful.

      Look, kids are smart and they can tell when their parents are suffering so they do whatever they can to either lessen or end their suffering. Doesn’t mean that this wasn’t F up but I don’t think he fully realized what he was doing only that he’s Dad would stop hurt. Hate the btw he should not have dragged his kid into it if he was going to off himself he should have done it in a way that looked like in accident on his part and in a way where he’d hurt no one too. Not that I condone suicidal thoughts or behavior, I’m just saying that the dad was not winning farther of the year award.

      @@alexwitt2745 Well, keep in mind this was about 8 episodes before he committed suicide. The way these shows work is that they film everything in advanced. The actor probably told the crew about this by the beginning of the season, and they included this bit of foreshadowing.

      I think it was completely intended. Since you how most people say they never saw it coming. The suicidee (that's not a word, but bear with me) can also lie to himself about it. Especially when you're living through good times, you would think you have no reason to. But good times can end and it's part of your job to survive the bad times until the good times come again.

    The story of House in particular, along with this guy and this episode was tragic.
    Especially living with the whole chronic pain thing myself.
    That's why I like House so much.
    I connect with the character.
    No one knows what real chronic pain is, unless they live it themselves or they know someone close to them that experiences it.

    I've been waiting for you to upload this episode. I took the pleasure of editing it down myself. I keep re-watching this episode over-and-over. Have re-watched it maybe 20 times. Just the thought that epilepsy through the testicles can cause that amount of excruciating pain. The testicles being so sensitive/fragile, something about that thought is just...so....unforgettable.

    I don't care what anyone says it s cruel to force someone to live who doesn't want to. We are suffering everyday and everyone else is only worried about how they feel about our pain..... People stop making someone elses suffering about you!

      It's because most people can imagine losing a loved one. It's much more difficult to relate to severe chronic pain. Also, movies have brainwashed people to believe that humans can overcome anything. Whatever helps them cope, I guess.

    That kid asking for his dad to die is something I can't believe, personally. I'd fight day and night to keep my dad alive and fight even harder to keep him happy enough to not kill himself or have the want to do so. Even to this day, after my dad died, I can't get over it and I still plead with whatever power exist to give me a chance to see him again.

      @@mechanomics2649 I was. I was the only thing helping my dad have the will to stay alive, and even then there were times that wasn't enough. I still fought for him until his day came when he passed away. I do not think differently, and don't assume otherwise.

      My mom has chronic pain. Most days it’s a 5-7, all day long. If it was any worse, she wouldn’t be able to move or think. If she got that bad and asked me to die, I would help her. There are worse things than death and I’m not so selfish as to ask her to endure that for my sake.

      Different people have different morals. My grandpa let his father die because his lung was leaking and it hurt to breathe. My grandfather considered it the moral thing to do, rather than force my great-grandpa to an existence of agony.

      It's made worse when we see the child tries to help his father die. Lifelong scarring and trauma :(

      My friend's father killed himself on my friend's birthday. My friend found him. The absolute pain you have to be in to make that decision that you can't even wait for another day to do it.
