Spencer freaking out that Angela forgot her role. Goes to remind her. Which she confirms she knows what she’s doing. Then messes up right after. Is such an Angela move.
I thought it was GENIUS picking Saint to throw them off her being the Monk, and Spencer was sooo cute reminding her lol. AND THEN SHE PICKED AMANDA INSTEAD OF COURTNEY LIKE GIRL WHY!! I woulda axed her on the spot but luckily they all knew no one in their right mind would save Amanda EXCEPT Angela 🤣🤣
@@bee-om2ry"I woulda axed her on the spot" lmao 😂😂😂
It wasn't even such a bad move to save the soldier (even though Angela didn't mean to). If the soldier gets poisened, they *can* be killed in the night. If they actually went off to (all) have private conversations during the daytime, Arasha and Tommy could've coordinated that.
well she was very tired and distracted during the initial "going over the rules" meeting because of her baby so it's very understandable that she'd mess up (i'm jokingly referencing the mechanical baby video)
She also kept saying to flip what Trevor was saying, heavily implying that she was the monk.
The editor being completely on Trevor’s side the whole time is so wholesome
Poor quiet boy needs somebody on his side 😂😭
I agree!!
Everyone always thinks that Trevor is sus in these games and he never is haha
We love Trevor!
Haha Trevor is amazing
Trevor silently big-braining the whole time is so heartwarming
I would like give a shoutout to Trevor for sussing out Tommy from the start. Trevor is very smart, especially when it comes to these types of games. Also, I have so much respect to Trevor for not talking over other people. He is an absolute gem and no one else ever believes him or trusts him and it breaks my heart. Stay strong Trevor, you’re doing great man!
Totally agree I think he's great
i love my boi trevor lol hes very smart at these games but he isnt great at articulating his thoughts so they call him sus lmaoo
Trevor also is very aware that he needs to respect their privacy (ex: he didn’t out Angela as the monk because he didn’t want to be rude and put her in danger)
I was about to say the same thing - he's a dear and a good addition to the cast team!!! 🧡
He kinda fudged it with Angela though. That was pretty obvious that saint was covering for monk
To answer your question, Spencer: yes, we would like you to play more of this.
Also, yes, you f8ckup on voting, cause after one vote passes, other vote can be open and if has more votes, the first nomination is saved and if ties, both are.
@@thgrotto yeah its their first time. That aaaalways happens with Clocktower. Just a very complex game. I know the second episode will improve on a lot. I also hope they invite more people on, so we can maybe have three on the evil team.
With a green room! Maybe each day Spencer tells someone to go to the green room to divulge their thoughts to the audience. Or maybe they can be encouraged to leave the couch to have private discussions, like the Traitors show
@@explorer47422 Tho I do love that idea, the way this channel shoots videos, I dont entirely know how manageble that is. Maaaaybe if this series gets enough views. But they shoot a LOT. We'll see. Would definitely add content. But also maybe slow stuff down. But curious to find out in future episodes.
@@explorer47422 In fact, the ability to split off and talk in pairs/smaller groups is PART OF THE RULES as well! That's a huge part of the game, being able to share and receive information that only _some_ of you know (maybe you reveal a super powerful role to only SOME people so when you die in the night you're pretty sure they wanted to kill you, etc etc.). And for the evil team, the fact that _only the demon_ gets showed the 3 bluffs (characters not in use) and wants to talk in private with their minions to share those bluffs, all without seeming sus somehow.
This new couch really is the gift that keeps on giving. Also love Spencer being the narrator on these types of games 🤣
Yep! Barely had enough space before.
Yes! They for sure upgraded with this couch! Perfect for it's intended purpose
This couch was perfect for this game
COUSIN
I love Spencer narrating except when he forgets certain roles' rules lol, like, did Anthony ever get to know anybody's role? Or like in the Werewolf one where suddenly Chanse's seer didn't do anything at night lol. 😭 It's a lot to keep up with though and Spencer is doing good!! It's probs really stressful doing it lol.
Amanda not revealing that she was the soldier at the beginning was so smart. Chanse was right that she revealed it at the perfect time. If the demon doesn't know who the soldier is when they attack and they unknowingly choose to attack them, they are basically 'wasting' a turn for attacking which is good for the good guys.
Chanse also stopped her from revealing it the day before. She was going to reveal it and he told her not to, and Amanda said I'm these games she always reveals to early and regrets it. Cut to her getting picked and revealing it the turn after revealing it at the PERFECT time. Chanse really is good at this game, they definitely need to bring him back next time they play.
@@ameliarose47 Chanse and Arasha are the best at these games, the former being better I feel (tho Arasha could just be crippled by the stigma that she's always lying even though Chanse is kinda just as good as her). They should always take point in this series.
I love Anthony, he's the reason I got into Smosh again, but he's way too trusting and doesn't think too far ahead in these, unfortunately.
I loved Tommy marinating them about the imp knowing about unused roles, the non-existent drunk role causing trevor to gaslight himself and the sudden, almost violent click in their heads at the end. What a game
spencer saying "some will have the incentive to lie" and the camera panning to arasha 😭😭😭
WAS JUST GONNA COMMENT THAT 😆
even better was when they mentioned thast you can't peek at other people's info and it panned to angela
And then “no cheating” and the camera pans to Angela🤣🤣
Queen of lies strikes again! Hahaha
@@scottish_rachellequeen of cheats hahaha
This new couch is perfect for these games. They all get to sit on it, and no one has to really lean over to be seen or heard, and no one has to sit behind anyone else. And if the game needs someone like spencer to be the narrator, they can easily walk around.
It is perfect. Whoever chose the couch did an amazing job.
Right?!
and we owe it all to day at the races
only in a smosh games video can i find a couch appreciation comment and i love it
Seriously, I need the info on this couch Smosh, it looks so comfy
So reaaaaaal it made me low-key emo it's so cosy like a bunch of friends or fam gathered for game night type feel it's so nice!
Trevor's frustration was so palpable i felt for him SO MUCH lol
Jesus, that was SO HARD to keep up.
But now that I understand the game, I'm sad that it was only one round. Pleeeeeeease, do another! (and before I forget the rules lol)
If you wanna get more familiar with the game, watch the No Rolls Barred games of this, they do a much better job at explaining the rules and roles.
@@necr0mancrr I'll think about it, cause I really like seeing Smosh playing boardgames. It might be a little weird. But thank you for your suggestion
Alternatively, the game developers "The Pandemonium Institute" have broadcasted games as well. You might have to dig specifically for Trouble Brewing videos if you want to learn the basics (as most games have advanced or even experimental characters in them, causing a whole extra set of rules to be learned; like Madness.)
There are so many rules. The good news is, if they keep playing the game and stick to 'Trouble Brewing'. The rules reinforce themselves through patterns of play (at least with new players).
@@alexmiller9249 The problem is a lot of the characters were played out incorrectly (unless if that is what you were referring to). They need to refer to the wiki and have a (preferably experienced) CO ST before running this again so that way it is showcased as it is. Again, great that they are showing the game, but this felt misleading.
ALL THE COUSINS GOT TOGETHER AT THE FUNCTION
COUSINS -Angela at one point probably
This is so cousin
My cousins and I used to play big murder mystery games like this. Miss those days..
@@TheOddHolloway we do at family function as well, it's very fun!
Trevor the out-of-town Cousin getting all the hazing.
Arasha's crazy play wasn't given enough credit. Not only was she poisoning Courtney every night, she did that to make Courtney think she was drunk because Courtney started to suspect she was being poisone. To reinforce that, Arasha started to claim that maybe she was being poisoned, not only throwing people off her scent but also making Courtney doubt her entire role because she might've just been drunk since two people can't be poisoned at the same time.
it’s honestly unsettling
Seriously!! No one is acknowledging how smart Arasha’s play was
I love Arasha’s strategy in these games. If Chanse is best at solving the riddles, Arasha is best at consistently weaving details into her story. I think over time she’s started to also use the way the others perceive her to her advantage, being more outspoken only when it benefits her more, which she probably picked up on after the Werewolf video. Well done to her, I just love seeing smart (and gorgeous) brown women in media 💕
she's so smart, it was amazing to see how well she played and used her role to its maximum potential
arasha IS the queen of lies fr 😭
Trevor’s deduction skills in this was spot on. I love that the first round he hit the nail on the head with Tommy being evil.
Also Angela doing the most Angela thing and saving Amanda who was the only one that couldn’t be killed by the demon was hilarious .
I didn’t find it funny, it frustrated me soooo much 😂
Chance: "So the MONK (looking at Angela) DOESN'T HAVE TO SAVE AMANDA".
Angela, shaking her head at him: (got it👍🏻).
Saves Amanda THE SAME NIGHT😭😭.
“no peeking” IMMEDIATELY CUTS TO ANGELA 😂
feral guinea pig antics 😂
Drunk (closeup on Tommy) Lie (closeup on Arasha) No peeking (closeup on Angela)
The shade is absolutely amazing out the gate 😂😂😂
And “some may want to die” and Tommy points to himself 😄
Not Tommy immediately getting the chef role wrong and outting himself and no one realizing
Also Arasha basically claiming to be the investigator but also claiming she was poisoned the second night and searching more than the first night
I caught that, but thought "maybe him and Spencer didn't understand, since they're all new"
@@scout4363 yeah i was afraid for her but luckily no one seemed to catch it 😂
Thats definitely what gave it away to me! I’m like, no the Chef can actually be really helpful!
i’m new to this game, how is the chef supposed to work?
Chance NEED to be in games like this, cuz he's the only one that can keep the game in line and makes it a good round.
For future games, some really critical info for the story teller:
Unlike in werewolf, just because a execution vote passes, doesn't mean the nominated is executed instantly. There should still be opportunity for other nominations (each player can only nominate and be nominated once per day). If votes are tied, them would be no execution otherwise, it's whichever player got the most votes in any one nomination that day who dies.
Basically after a vote passes to execute, give the players a chance to talk and make a counter nomination, but usually not a lot of time.
This would have given Tommy half a chance to manage the sudden suspicion on him especially as a number of players said they weren't comfortable with the vote so he absolutely could have tied something up.
Splitting off for private chats is also a good idea, but probably a bit much of headache in terms of production.
Hope you guys play a lot more of this as it improves so much as the same group gets more experienced with the game and how each other play. It could comfortably work as a longer running series.
wonder how much Angela will understand because of baby chosen 😭😂
thats immediately what I was thinking.
First thing I thought when I saw this too lol
His name is Choey, grow up kid.
@@RonnieStewartJrCho. But as in Chosen, not chode😂😂
Lmao GROW UP😅@@RonnieStewartJr
everyone sitting on the new couch with their feet tucked under them. giggling and kicking my feet they're all so adorable
very wholesome, except for the split moment Chanse's feet were blurred at 2:30 😂
@@dag__hag looking for this comment lol
I think Trevor and Courtney deserve so much credit for just vibing off that Tommy and Arasha were bad. Courtney only got thrown when she got bad info, but like both of them? I am proud of their brains.
Also props to Amanda for listening to het gut and trusting the bad energy she felt from them. She sensed it.
Some storytelling tips and rules corrections:
When someone is nominated, the nominator should make an accusation and the nominee should get a defense speech.
When their are enough votes gathered, the nominee isn't automatically killed. (They are just on the chopping block.) More nominations can be made. If someone is nominated and gets an equal amount of votes, nobody is on the chopping block anymore. If that person gets more votes they are on the chopping block instead. At the end of the day the person on the chopping block is then executed.
There were some misconceptions about some roles. Like the chef knows how many evil players sit next to each other. This game it would be one since Arasha and Tommy sit next to each other. If there was a player between them it would be 0. And if the Washerwoman learns that one of two players is a certain character, that doesn't automatically make the other person evil. Also the Fortune Teller doesn't leasrn ggod or evil, they just learn if one of the chosen people is the demon. Also one good player registers to them as the demon.
All that said this is not saying Spencer did a bad job. As long as everybody playing had a good time it doesn't matter. It just about trying to help improving on the knowledge of the rules. That's all.
Thanks for the info and for being kind towards them ☺ Too many people in the comments literally ripping them apart for playing a new difficult game on the first time and getting some things wrong. How dare they 😃
its a weird format where they choose to not include private talks, witch is how most information (atleast in the start) is shared, and it felt insane that day 3 was taking that much longer, players should interact but having it take that long and not having a couple of deaths (one execution and a night death) would in a more experienced group mean almost certain doom for evil
@@katie18976 If your whole point of a video is to showcase a game, then read the rules and stick to them religiously, doesn't matter how difficult the game is, if you feel the game might be too hard then to a few practice game before recording the video so that the players know how to play.
They don't have to be the best at the game and know all the tricks and loopholes and so on, as long as they stick to the rules it's fine.
@@oLawlieto you should consider that this is mainly entertainment channel and it was the first time they played this game. If the audience responds well they will more likely play it again and maybe take some suggestions from the comments and get better at the game as well. But still, the main purpose of this video is entertainment first.
I love how Angela fucking up is the thing that made everyone realize she and Amanda are good. Just typical Angela shenanigans 😂
This is Angelas redemption arc after being a werewolf a while ago
@@simpayshenaidesalso her redemption after criminal minds

It was true that time, but she could absolutely have used it do bluff if she ended up being evil.

I hope they'll let her cross over to Deezy!
The WHOLE exchange was batshit and hilarious 😂 Everyone joining in with their impressions had me in stitches
If anyone is confused about the rules, or wants to watch more Blood on the Clock Tower, No Rolls Barred has a whole series of videos playing it, in a bunch of iterations both virtually and in-person! I'm excited that other channels are picking it up, because it's very complicated but also very interesting!
Really love the editors for this video for being absolutely supportive of Trevor & him not speaking over the others. Trevor ♥️
Papa Anthony is finally allowed to have the kids on his own after returning with the milk. ✨Progress✨
I still assume that's why Arasha smacked the ever loving shit out of Anthony was because of how he destroyed the family when he originally left all those years ago! 😂😂😂😂
It was his turn with the kids ❤
he had them for the weekend.
@@cigarette_ahegao he's the weekend dad, & is getting help with his sister-in-law Courtney who helped raise the children while he was gone 😂😂😂😂
the comment i was looking for lol
kudos to Chanse for being casually good at the game. also good job sniffing out Tommy's strategy immediately, Trevor
Chanse balanced his role as "the one people will listen to because he knows what's up" really well. He didn't become overconfident and unintentially lead people astray. Ian tends to do that (Shayne and Damien as well) because they know games and/or has a tendency to be listened to in general. But they speculate as if they are "a normal player" because they don't view themselves like that. Chanse seems very aware of how he phrases things to point out what he knows and what he thinks, without bringing people along a single track too much. He's a great person in these games
Honestly I feel like anyone who knows anything about this game is just wincing along with Chanse because not only did both of the evil people out themselves almost immediately (unintentionally obvi) but Trevor somehow didn't pick up on the fact that Angela was trying to protect her role as monk because it makes her vulnerable; also why did Trevor say who the two people weree omfg
@@amanshareef7971I think Trevor confused himself when he told the group one of them was good. So he then started thinking one of them was bad.
@@amanshareef7971 You have to remember this is their first time playing this game in the middle of a work day in a work week when they've shot dozens of other videos and played many other games. You can't expect them to know all the proper strategies or even all the rules that fast.
@@ceeceepg Yeah, just one of the role misconceptions. I kept wincing at Tommy's Chef Bluff, claiming "learning 2 evil people are in the game is so helpful" when that is so not what it does.
Watching Chanse and Trevor play these kinds of games is so fun because they’re both quite good. Also, I really like the option to skip ahead to play along. That’s super cool!
Shouting at the top of their lungs at each other then immediately pointing the finger at Tommy was such a turn
trevor was the real mvp here, but having the truthteller sitting directly by angela was interesting. i love angela's passionate outbursts, but poor trevor had the right idea all along and it took amanda calming things down for him to speak his peace. i need more of this game biblically.
Tons of great BOTC content creators out there. Check out No Rolls Barred for in-person games or the official channel to see how the real pros play. The game is absolutely bonkers on higher difficulty level.
Um.. no? He fulled out Angela, needlessly, and stupidly
We're nearly a year on with Anthony back, and it is so heartwarming seeing him have such effortless chemistry with his Smosh stepchildren. You can tell he's really comfortable there now
Yup, he stopped doing that forced laugh that he was doing before (I don’t blame him) now he’s genuinely laughing and having fun
Man, Trevor is such a great addition to the cast. I'd love to see him as a character in Sword AF season 2.
I really really wish they could do this game justice with private chats and a better execution of the rules. But I'm really glad that my favorite game has been seen by all these Smosh viewers.
For those who aren't familiar with the rules of the game, I just want to clarify real quick: Tommy got the Chef role wrong, it is not even REMOTELY as bad of a role as he thought it was. It's actually generally considered one of the best roles on Trouble Brewing (the edition that they are playing).
It's understandable that he would make the mistake - it's his first time playing and he was thrown into one of the hardest positions in the game and had to make things up on the fly.
But the Chef's ability is not that they learn how many evil players there are, their ability is that they learn how many evil PAIRS there are. In other words, they learn how many sets of evil players are sat next to each other.
For example, in this game, there was 1 pair of evil players, because Tommy and Arasha were sitting next to each other.
The reason the Chef is so good is because if you figure out an evil player, the Chef information tells you whether or not you should think that player's neighbors are evil as well.
I don’t want to “um, actually” their first game too hard (especially like… he got the demon in their first game, lot of pressure) but yeah that chef claim was rough. If he understood the role and through out “chef 0” it would have added one more piece of misinformation. I hope they play again and keep getting a feel for the details, there is SO much in this game.
Yeah, thankfully, though, no one else in the game understood it, either lol
@@ExactApproachLOL To be fair, I think the Chef is badly worded and mentioning adjacency more explicitly would go a long way towards making it understandable at a glance. At least the first time I looked at TB, it wasn't immediately clear to me what its description means until someone talked about it.
Imo, for a second time, a more spaced out game with the room for private chats and asking the ST for help understanding their bluffs (and roles in general) would have probably gone a long way towards making the learning process smoother. As it is, the Imp would have been cooked (pun intended) on day 1 if there was a face-up outsider other than the Recluse in the game. But since everyone was playing for the first time and equally confused, it all worked out. An entirely "open forum" game of Clocktower is not something you see every day. :)
Oh Hi Rumi surprised to see you here. Also agreed.
Chef is not adjancy. They learn how many pair of evils sits together. Tommy + Arasha is 1 pair. Tommy + Arasha + Anthony will be 2. Or lets says if theres 2 minion instead and there is a recluse.
Tommy + Arasha 1.
Example:
Trevor (recluse) + Angela (minion) can be another pair.
Also to add on to this game the FT aldo got things wrong, they dont learn who was evil but they learn if they are the demon.
Also for this game, i think the Storyteller didnt do anything for the fortune teller being poisoned.
Chefs will put role but often lie or don't say the number so that the demon can't work around the info
Trevor always immediately incriminating himself despite being innocent and whoever is actually guilty almost always saying exactly one believable lie and then nothing else is really really funny
I feel like I need you guys to play this several more times. This is one of those games that makes me hyper aware that I don't have any friends lol

Trevor was not “gaslit,” my friend.
Gaslighting is something with specific characteristics and criteria that are well-established and determine what qualifies as gaslighting and what does not.
I respectfully encourage you and anyone else who might read this to look into what gaslighting genuinely is, what it is not, and what the criteria are that something must meet for it to qualify as gaslighting because the vast majority of people who use the term gaslighting are misusing it. ✌️🏽
@@katek.4692 eh i was just joking around 🤷♀️
Nah Chanse was right, Trevor was just being dumb that moment. He didn't thought that BOTH Angela and Amanda could be good AND that if he put anyone of those two forward as nominations it is automatically gonna give the bad guys an advantage. That's why it wad so good that both Chanse and Angela talked it out so that Trevor and Amanda could also team up with them.
Amanda "I KNEW THAT FROM THE BEGINNING (but didn't say so until it was revealed)" Lehan-Canto
They absolutely HAVE to play this againnn
Day 4 was crazy. I still can't pinpoint the exact moment when it switched from Angela fighting for her life into convincing everyone it was Tommy. What a beautiful chaos. Thank goodness for Washer Woman Trevor.
I picture this as a movie with the washer woman as the protagonist. At the end, after putting together every information she had gathered and everything she had witnessed while hanging laundry, she tries to convince the villagers that the alleged chef is actually the demon. And somewhere in the beginning of the movie there is a foreshadowing that reflects Trevor's very first suspicion.
Arasha and Tommy already looking like the most normal totally normal couple in your neighborhood lmao
wandavision
The moving around and the secret conversations definitely take it up a level and make it different to say, Ultimate Werewolf. Gives it a Survivor feel with secret alliances etc. Is there any way the team can make a couple spare rooms and make that happen? It's seriously THE BEST game!
oh this was a great video. i keep watching the entirety of day 4 bc the way they figure it all out is just absolutely insane 😭 also shoutout to trevor for coming in clutch n angela for not actually forgetting her role this time lmao
never gonna get tired of smosh playing werewolf style games like this
Allllllllways the best!
The little shadow guy at the bottom, while Spencer is explaining that there's a demon who takes human form, was a nice little touch by the editor. Love that.
I nearly missed that holy cow
if smosh games turned into a blood on the clocktower only channel, i would be here every upload to watch once without knowing and again after knowing. 10/10 game 10/10 gameplay 10/10 cast 10/10 storyteller 10/10 video
Probably the best impostor game I've seen from Smosh! Played along by skipping the nights, then went back and watched them at the end, super fun. I hope you guys do this again!
35:33 Tommy making devil horns but passing it off as a chefs hat was brilliant
YES! I First watched the video skipping the Nights and wasn't sure he was the Imp, so when he did that I thought it was a really weird way of making a Chef's hat, then I realized they looked like horns!
"I f*cked up and chose to save the soldier who is already safe"
"That is such an Ang move"
It really is though 🤣🤣
Would love to see them play it for real where they get up and walk around and have side conversations! Obviously a tougher video to produce but it's such a huge piece of what sets Blood on the Clocktower apart from other social deception games. Let Arasha shine!!!
Poor Trev, I hope he’s not feeling left out of the gang. We love you Trevor!! ❤️
28:47 LMFAO tommy’s smile when trevor revealed the monk while failing to be vague 😭
Well it was basically Amanda messing up and Angela claiming The Saint that confused him.
They are seriously leveling up games production - the lighting, the big couch for more folks to play. Plus editing always hits (especially the blurring of feet, god help us 😂)
there's blurring?? 😭😭
@frostjune6072 I noticed it at 2:30 with Chanse's socks, they aren't blurred before then!
@@frostjune6072 Yes, it's just for a second. Thanks for the time stamp @OhSoAud!
Why did they blurry the socks?
@@Atravessada Some people who REALLY like feet get weird about it even if its in socks
Spencer: "I don't think we really messed up at all".... Oh boy. It is a very convoluted game, I don't blame them from messing it up and I am sure they'll read the comments and realise the importance of the sidebars, proper voting, and all the responsibilities that fall upon the story teller. I hope they are willing to put in the work for a future video (I bet setting up production for the sidebars must be a hassle) but really the content potential is huge. People scheming privately, Hail Mary nominations, weird role powers that make the story teller question what is the best course of action. This video was fine but to just think of the level of enterteinment that we could get if properly played... Let's hope this gets revisited.
I highly doubt they will ever play it "correctly" because private talks and scheming privately are an integral part of the game and including private chats in IRL games is very expensive and complicated.
NRB raises 100k+ in kickstarter whenever they do a new "season", which end up being about 10k per episode or so.
And that's with them hiring one of the creator of BotC to be the Storyteller to help with the game and keep up with the dozens of rules.
@@Jonathan-fw6ty Most of the budget for the NRB series went to the set and filimg equipment and crew. Smosh already has all that. They've done videos before using other parts of the studio like the hide and seek. For an 8 player game they need at most 4 spots for the sidebars. The couch/time square serves as one, even maybe 2, if they talk with low volume and have good enough mics to catch the conversations. So it wouldn't be that difficult to set the rest. Would it take more work absoluletly. But I don't think the budget would be an issue. As for the story teller, If say Spencer would be to continue that role he only needs a little more study time. Watch a few more videos. He's more than capable of running this show. Maybe you're right and they won't bother. But I think is completely doable and worth it. I hope the Pandemonium Institute recognises the potential and maybe reaches out to them with feedback.
@@Jonathan-fw6ty They've already done something really similar to this with the amogus in real life set. They wouldn't even have to doll it up to the extent NRB does, just... have A Space where people can do private conversations. Which they've done before. I agree it's a pretty integral part of the game, but it's one they've proven they can pull off.
@@Jacolini802251 they also don't have to have seperate areas, they can just move around the couch and whisper to each other.
The collaboration between smosh and no rolls barred is inching closer and closer…..
Edit: I knew I was this was gonna be bumpy as soon as Anthony said he’s the Ravenkeeper on day 1….
Also Tommy really misunderstood the chef role, it’s not really clear from the description but it’s pairs of evil players sitting next to each other. So in this case a 2 would be impossible since there’s only 2 evil players, it would either be a 1 if they’re next to each other or a 0 if they’re not
2 is possible if both Evil players are sat next to the Recluse. But as that's pinpointing exactly where evil is it's not really something you should use an outsider ability to do
Trevor just being silent towards the end is such a mood
Towards the end?
:(
100% the youngest cousin that just got “Teen Club” priveleges and found out how crazy the family is😂
47:55 Poor Trevor still seems traumatised over the time Spencer told them to not talk over everyone 😂
when was that? id like to know. i do recall he was being very loud at the beginning, but has been rather quiet since
@@RePaperBagfrom another smosh games they been. Spencer leads the smosh games of course. Sometime angela or trevor get troubled.
@@RePaperBag funnily enough, I rewatched their Werewolf video after this and that's when it was mentioned! Trevor said that's why he was being quiet and Spencer said along the lines of "I did have to tell y'all off for crosstalk" lol
Yea. Im curious if he is still this excited about his half-position at Smosh. He seems a bit drained in the big group games...like that comment actually got to him. :/
@@m00nrac00n I was actually thinking the same. I feel bad for him now. Everyone else keeps yelling and talking over each other and Spencer didn't say anything to them for this whole video. Why was he the one being reprimanded?
I hope this becomes a series! Everyone getting heated up and arguing over each other was WILD
I love how the video starts with Tommy and Arasha look like the 2 stoned kids at the a party trying to act normal but just look suspicious and laugh at everything
Blood on the Clocktower needs to become a series, it’s so freaking awesome I love it 😭🤣
@darenchalita3336 If you enjoyed it I highly recommend checking out No Rolls Bared plays blood on the clock tower. They take the game really passionately and even have players split up into small groups during the day session to have private conversations so everyone is able to to gather a lot more information in the day phase.
Go full No Rolls Barred
SO good!
Think really they need to make this a live show. The killer and helper has no idea who they are till the day of and we have no idea.
Angela figuring out that it was Tommy and Arasha before everyone else was honestly crazy. She was spot on even though before that she messed up by saving Amanda. 😅
Also Trevor. He was the first to call out Tommy at the beginning.
They nailed it
@@mewaw-mp5ht Yeah this video had a lot of awesome moments. I hope they play it again, and it seems like they will.
Im at 21:00 and i’m super confused. Angela protected Courtney, but Tommy attacked Amanda. Then spencer said noone died. How??? No one protected amanda
@@jl7662because amanda is the soldier
She did not mess up. If the poisoner and the Imp would both habe picked Amanda, then the soldier's ability would not have worked.
This was so fun! I love that y'all edited it so the audience can play too!!💕💕
I can't imagine how this is possibly gonna go with the sheer chaotic energy brought to a fairly chill and calculated game, but I'm here for it
Tommy and arasha staying statue still in the intro is sending me ☠️
Editor Kortney is really fighting for Trevor's honor in this vid I love it!
The best part of Clocktower is how many variations can happen. Hopefully you guys keep playing!
I’d LOVE to see more of this! The complexity of the game makes it so fun to watch!
Trevor knew Angela was bound to mess up and used it to help her in the end that's insane
He dominated this video
I love seeing the differences in how people play this game. I’ve watched No Rolls Barred play it, and they’re all so careful and strategic, then I come here and see half of them reveal their roles immediately.
Similar to their trivial pursuit house rules videos. They are so different but I can't decide which I prefer
I had the same thought! NRB take this game so seriously and honestly, sometimes it's too strategic for me to follow and still enjoy. Smosh has half the amount of player and it's their first time so it was actually refreshing to watch.
Anthony saying the Ravenkeeper seemed like a useless role so he might as well reveal himself, it won't affect anything, nearly made me fall out of my chair 😂
This was a very chaotic game and I'm honestly worried bc historically BotC/Pandemonium has acted very nasty to anyone who doesn't play their way.
A fun game made by a very uptight, bitter, hateful company. Considering they gave Smosh this game as a gift hopefully they don't spew vitriol the same way as they did when Yogscast played it, bc I really enjoyed this video and would like to see them play again.
BotC's spiteful gatekeeping habit might jeopardize that if the company throws another tantrum :,^)
@@baydiac Omg real, him thinking one of the most powerful confirmation roles is useless and immediately nerfing himself by outing it was so funny
To be fair, it was their first time playing and I wouldn't expect them to know the roles inside and out and what the best way to play is. Hopefully they make more videos of BotC and learn more strategy. But then again, it is funny how chaotic it all is.
"I set you guys up. There's no demon."
[Laughs in the experimental Atheist role]
That was painful to watch from a BotC-fan's perspective.
General:
- You have to have private chats in this game.
- Voting should be done different (with a little bit of time pressure).
- There can be more than one nominations a day, even if there are enough votes on the first one.
Character Abilitys:
- The Chef is not useless. He learns how many pairs of evil players there are. In this game it would be a "1". So the Chef would have learned that the evil players are neighbours.
- The poisoner targeting the soldies makes the soldier's ability disappear. So it is not silly for a monk to protect the soldier if you are scared of a poisoner.
- The ravenkeeper is not a silly role, but it might be silly to communicate being the ravenkeeper. The ability only works if they die at night.
- The invesitagor sees two players and one minion character. So they do not learn that someone is good.
For this game it is important to get the rules right. Then it is social deduction on a next level.
Yeah, I'm glad Botc in being shown on such a big channel but this one is definitely not for me
And on top of all that, everyone was yelling over each other the whole time.
It's everyone's first time. Private chats is needed for something like this and werewolf game but it's hard because this is not online werewolf.
they should watch how No Rolls Barred play BotC, they are outstanding in how they play. Itd be cool to see if they could get one of their storytellers to help them out
@@Paint_The_Future the storyteller has to be like a schoolteacher and get everyone settled when doing nominations and votes, it's a hard job wrangling new players coz everyone wants to get their point across but that's why you have time for the prosecution and defence to state their case
Seeing all players in a clocktower game playing for the first time after having watched probably hundreds of games is such an adjustment. Everyone just saying their roles immediately. This is fascinating
Yeah, it's always jarring watching new players play and seeing metas develop in real time. The fact that the Fortune Teller just outed her role publicly on day 1 is wild.
It's funny to me that even the slightest about of bluffing caught them off guard - Angela's Saint bluff was genuinely a really smart way to stay alive and not get killed by the demon, but because they don't yet have the experience to know why good players would bluff like that, it almost caused more harm to the good team in the middle game as they tried to work out why Angela was lying.
Where have you watched hundreds of games? This is the first time i've seen this game before. Love to see more on this
@@bowmain1577 First off No Rolls Barred is probably the most popular and highest production value on the in-person games. The players are also mostly actors or comedians. If you look them up on CZcams with the name of the game, a lot of the newer videos include roles and mechanics that might be confusing so I recommend watching older videos first. Then you have Noobs on the Gooftower which is ran by comedian Chris Grace and often features some from the NRB cast. And then there is the official BOTC CZcams channel, The Grimoire, ElixirElise, Arif, Jams on the channel Gen Con and probably more I’m forgetting. It gets really interesting, complex and exciting, I highly recommend getting into the game. (I’m aware this sounds like an ad but I swear it’s not lol I’m just an enthusiastic fan)
@@bowmain1577 The channel No Rolls Barred has a long running series aimed at people less familiar with the game. There's several dozen games there. Once you have more experience, other channels like The Pandemonium Institute, CTBOTC, Patters, etc have channels specifically focuses on Clocktower, but those channels generally expect you to come in to the games with a certain knowledge already, so I wouldn't quite recommend them for absolute beginners.
@@Ruminations09 Just adding for those that don't know, that The Pandemonium Institute is the publisher of BOTC, and Ben the Storyteller for NRB's game is also from that company, so there's real good reason that NRB's videos are a really good onboarding study for people who are new to the game. One of the people that made the game is essentially running their game for them and providing player tips to both the audience and the NRB players.
It would be cool to see them play blood on the clocktower with private conversations. I think having everyone talking together kind of limits the game, although it was still great to watch!
100%! It’s hard to produce but completely opens up the game with different world views and shared info. With everyone talking together it’s a lot harder to pull off individual plays
I second this! It’s one of the most important and unique aspects of the game. I get that it’s harder to film but channels like No Rolls Barred have done it.
I love blood on the clocktower and the private conversations are what make it. However seeing new people play and mess up was very funny too. I need a slayer scarlet woman game next as that would be amazing.
As someone who knows nothing of the game, I think this was a good start to it. Adding more stuff when people get more in to it is probably the wisest.
i think art department can do the justice of building small private room convo if commissioned
tip for the grim reveal at the end: walk through whose roles affected each other going each night so people can follow what happened throughout the game. and this part is totally ST preference but it’s fun to hold off on telling the roles of the most crucial characters till the end
Ngl, I think it would be so fun for Chanse to be the demon and Angela the minion lol
“Some have an incentive to lie” (zooms in on Arasha), “some players may want to die” (zooms in on Tommy pointing to himself), “drunk or poisoned” (zooms in on Amanda), “no peeking” (zooms in on Angela)
I love the editing lol
I love how funny Anthony finds The Jizzler. Smosh may change, but Anthony's sense of humor never will.
It was heartwarming to see them all laughing so hard, genuinely tickled by themselves hahaha
The way it went on for long enough for it to be a full bit,, was crazy 😭
This was amazing, definitely do this again in the future.
I NEED TO SEE Y'ALL PLAY THIS AGAIN. I loved this SO much.
Trevor was great in this video. He, Courtney, Chanse, and Arasha are usually really fun to watch with these mafia-type games because they know how the game works and are good at lying
100% I love the way they play these games, they’re all just super smart people. I hope Damien plays next time too!
I LOVE IT WHEN THERES SO MANY PEOPLE IN ONE VIDEO
It works so well in these kind of games. It gets a little iffy when there are too few playing so this was lovely. And a great balance of personalities in this one as well.
This video format is so much fun to watch!!! With the big couch and Spencer looming. Absolutely love it.

Trevor being the baby brother who is always left out and bullied.
Poor Trevor. Endlessly bullied. 😭
This was such a fun and intense ride!! Definitely do more!
THIS WAS AMAZING PLEASE MAKE THIS A SERIES!!!!
Poor Trevor, man. I really hope he finds his groove and stuff within Smosh. It's like he's perpetually afraid of being yelled at by his parents lmao
If you’re talking about him being quiet a lot, I think he was nervous about talking over people because that’s a big thing they try not to do in videos

Anthony saying the demon won’t care about his role and immediately claiming Ravenkeeper publicly I’m SCREAMING 😂
wait im a lil slow can you explain why😭😭
@@ghost-wl3pm The ravenkeeper is a role that needs to be killed by the demon in order to get information. So you don't want the demon to know you are the ravenkeeper and try different tactics in order to make the demon kill you in the night, eg by claiming a powerful role.
@@ghost-wl3pm The other comment explained the role well. But just to expand even more, generally a public hard claim of Ravenkeeper is just going to ensure that player never dies via the demon unless evil coordinates a poisoned kill. Because that degree of confirmation can be super powerful--either you build a confirmation chain with another good player or you identify a demon/minion AND their actual role. So the last thing evil is gonna want to do is risk the RK getting sober and healthy info in most scenarios. And living Ravenkeepers tend to be good people for evil to try and push on as being a demon bluff later in the game too.
Yeah, for a first game, they handled several things really well, but it’s hard to see the real value in some roles without getting a feel for the game. Like, Virgin is super strong for confirmation, but I bet it would be seen as a bad/useless ability until you see it happen and “get it”. I hope we get to see them play again and have those “OHHHH” moments.
Please play more of this! It was super fun to watch! I'd love to see some of the different situations and other roles.
Amazing session! Definitely want more of this game :D
Chanse playing with his little toy on the couch is SENDING ME 😂😂💀
For years every time they would remodel the set I thought the furniture they chose looked so uncomfortable and was a struggle for them to film but this couch looks so comfy and makes it so much easier for them to play, especially a game like this, great job!
we would LOVE to see more of this game!!! I absolutely freaking loved this!!!
This was FANTASTIC 😍😍 we definitely need more.
