and they even have it in cannon that kiadi-midu (they guy with the long forhead) was able to swap between green and blue, like they just messed up

Yeah, those that create Star Wars lore REALLY deserve a big chunk of cash from Lucasfilms, as they come up with reasons and justification for every little glitch, cgi mistake and writer/director error, and actually make them part of the lore.
I mean they even made a realistic reasoning, within lore, for the Vader Obi Wan duel on the first Death Star to be so low energy and lame, compared to everything that followed after it.
It’s funny because this is one of the things that makes Star Wars so interesting, as the lore goes so deep like this, while at the same time makes me think “enough already, it’s like that because …………….. “ (fill in the blank with anything: the studio was to cheap, the write/director screwed up, the actor blew it, etc…) 🤣

If I remember Kanan also wielded a duel phase lightsaber. He was shown changing the blade length of his saber for Ezra so he could more easily use it in training before Ezrs constructed his own saber.
That was a manual function common to most standard lightsabers. The dual phase lightsaber specifically refers to a button to change between 2 pre set lengths

I love Count Dooku’s lightsaber the way that it is tilted gives it more of a grip and leverage point. As well as the hilt being easily movable to throw off his opponents by coming from awkward and different angles. And if you’ve ever seen the movies he does a move every time he begins a duel with a Jedi that is reminiscent of the move people do when they fence. Which really plays into his character and design choice.

The whole saber wasn't made of wood it was just the casing, it's not a completely seperate type of light saber. Every jedi's light saber was customized to the individuals prefrence.

You forgot the “guard Shoto” which is described in the book “Star Wars light saber‘s: a guide to weapons of the force” as A regular light saber hilt at a 90° angle, allowing the blade to be held parallel to the forearm and spun in a complex form of defense or attack.
In the same book it also speaks of the light whip: “One of the rarest offshoots of lightsaber technology is the lightwhip, which can consist of snake-like energy tendrils and physical metallic latches, forming a weapon that can both slice and trap an opponent”

I really do hope they bring back some of the more fun stuff such as the light Whip and light axe.
Makes sense why Vader loved the Proto-Saber. Underneath all that metal and cybertronics, he is still Anakin Skywalker. Wouldn't be surprised if he took it apart and put it back together a few times to see how it worked.
So in the darth Vader comic where he fights Jocasta Nu, like that series not that issue, in an early issue his first suit is destroyed and he’s lying on a table and tells Palpatine to not let the robots design the suit, he then redesigns the suit and upgrades it using the force to move object and stuff around, Palpatine even says “oh yes you where always an engineer” meaning it’s totally reasonable in canon that what you said is true as the current canon version of Vader still does engineer stuff.

In cannon, I believe all lightsabers can adjust their blade length, as in Rebels we see Ezra adjust the length of kanan’s lightsaber to train, however only dual phase savers have that level of “flick of a switch” adjustment between presets that enables it to be changed mid-combat.
I don't know if jedi fallen order is cannon but the splitsaber is cool as frick.
Fallen order is considered Canon and if I remember correctly in some episodes of starwars the clone wars Asajj Ventress used a type of split saber
Ya Asajj Ventress uses curved hilt sabers that and join together so a curved hilt split saber. Sense the first time you see them in clone wars I have always wanted a pair what I don’t know is if hers go together with a magnet or like a clip. What about the folding double bladed ones that the temple guards use in rebels. The advantage of the split saber is if you only want to use one blade you don’t have to be holding onto this huge ass hilt you can just have a normal size hilt.

No this is just canon nothing from legends, as if he included all the types from legends which is not canon, there were be too many to cover in a single video hence why this is only those light saber types which are shown in canon not to be confused with legends which use to be canon but is now no longer canon and is now known as star wars legends.
