I love how this trailer is almost entirely made of deleted scenes. It makes me wonder if there was enough material recorded to actually make an extended version.
That's what I was thinking. Maybe there's a Director's Cut of the movie & I hope that it gets released.
I went to the cinema with my school mates to see this. I was 13 years old then. Im 50 years old now. I love 80's movies with a passion today.

This needs to be re-released on Blu-ray with the deleted scenes in this trailer. Especially with Renegades of Funk playing in the subway battle scene.
We need the deleted scenes and extended battle at the Roxy.
For a movie that came out the same weekend as Ghostbusters & Gremlins, it was a successful movie. The budget was around $9.5 million & it grossed over $16.

Watched it on the cinema in 1984. This movie make me feel cool all life long. Makes me feel way cooler than todays 11 year olds.

Hold on a minute, how come this is full of deleted scenes never before seen? This is amazing footage, this should be put into the movie & released via Blu-ray as an extended version with interviews with some of the cast. I'd buy this immediately. None of the teasings of scenes, just release it.

Breakin' I & II and Krush Groove come in afterwards.
Rappin' was WACK
An extended version rerelease w/ ALL the deleted scenes as seen in this trailer reinserted is a must for this timeless classic.
The ONLY negative in this flick being that the producers decided against using REAL graff heads of the day for all the tags, throw ups, burners, and most especially... the pieces, seen throughout the whole movie.

First early 2000's they put out the breakin collection box set with breakin 1&2 along with beat street & a bonus disc that's weak, then 2016 Olive Films releases a blu ray of beat street with no bonus scenes or extras, wtf? Just give me the uncut version of the Roxy battle if nothing else but damn c'mon MGM wtf is the deal? It's been f#%ng long enough

beat street battle the most cut up scenes ever i heard 10 minutes was cut out of the battle all because the new york city breakers did moves that wasted the rock steady crew they had no right to cut out the battle at the roxys iam 48 i doubt they will release the uncut version all because they are greedy and weant to make extra income in the future this film should be released uncut on normal tv

I’ve picked that scene apart dozens of times. You can clearly see how they pasted parts together by the people placement and how it changes during the action. Pay attention to Tracy and her friends as they magically move around from breaker-to-breaker.

Wild Style is the most authentic.The rest are watered down although the dancers in Beat Street and Breakin are legit.

Beat Street is a cult classic in the real Hip-Hop community together w/ Style Wars and Wild Style.
Breakin' I & II are aight but Beat Street captured perfectly the early days of the Hip-Hop subculture and it's 4 elements of emceeing, breakin', deejaying / production, and graff writing in the birthplace and mecca of this soon to be global cultural phenomenon known as Hip-Hop. Beakin', released in '84 as was Beat Street, while a more comercial success, didn't do the subculture as much justice as did BS. It's based in CA which already was mutating Hip-Hop into something distinct from it's original East Coast counterpart and this fact is noticeable in the movies 2 distinct styles. The breakin' is way better in Beat Street. One of the main reasons? Two words... Crazy Legs. That Rock Steady Crew cat was in ALL THREE of the cult classic flicks mentioned above!
Anyways. To each their own but even Ice T himself is on record as saying that Breakin' was 'Wack" sooooo
