- I just discovered that the Tesla Model Y and 3 can both play media from USB devices and drives. Thanks to POSSPO, I can listen to my Audio CDs with no skips or jumps right from my Tesla with native integration in the touch screen. With Vinyl making such a comeback, I think CDs are going to be the hot way to listen to music in 2023, and now I have the perfect way with the POSSPO CD Player for cars! As a bonus, I even dug out my old IPod and found that it works perfectly as well in the car. You can even save money on expensive streaming services which can cost over $10 a month and the Tesla Premium Connectivity which is required for streaming and costs $10 / month, adding up to nearly $250 a year in total!

I have dozens and dozens of regular store bought albums and custom CDs that I burned.
Prior to SiriusXM, the long-playing CDs kept me entertained on long drives. This is important since you couldn't be guaranteed to tune in to a radio station with your preferred music during the trip.
Even after the satellite radio, I still like listening to MY music in the order I set.
My car from 2016 runs like a champ and I am hanging onto it for the CD player.
A serious black mark against modern cars, not just Teslas, is the lack of CD player.
Thanks for posting. I bookmarked the Amazon site in case I do pick up a Tesla.
I'm glad this helped. I have a similar affinity to tapes based on childhood memories even though they are certainly less convenient. You might want to check if your vehicle would be compatible with this already as it basically just mounts as a media drive via USB so it's not unique to Teslas that this would work with.
@@Eventurefamily No worry on that. My 2016 still has a functioning CD player. 🙂
A Tesla is being considered as the new addition to the collection. 🙂
Very Fab. THANK YOU! BRILLIANT!
This works well with mp3 as well. I added a USB splitter to the glove box, plugged the Tesla thumb drive into one slot and a thumb drive with a Music folder into another slot. My model Y recognized the music folder on the USB stick, showed the subfolders of my mp3 music, and played the tunes in the subfolder just as they were set up. Great for us old school folks who have mp3 players and mp3 music mixes. I much prefer my mixes to streaming.
Could you tell us what specific splitter you used? It's a really tight space to plug into. Thanks!
i love cds too. and i've been looking up this player too, but a few things bumps in: i don't know whether this player can bit stream the pcm to the wav files, if it can't , there are way less reason to using the player. for the gm from this era, there are first party cd player for it. i don't have the enclave, but i do have experience with lacross and the caddilac cue (they are basically same thing with different skin). cd player is a dealer option, it also supports cdtext.
for the tesla, the better way would be ripping the cd to a thumb drive, it can play hi-res files too. and using thumb drive would be a way better solution since it holds a lot more songs and supports tags, album art etc.
Yeah for GM cars, if you really need CD playback, it might be best to option it from the factory. If that's not possible or you have another, I do think this is a pretty good option. It buffers the files so that it doesn't skip and seems to support every CD I can throw at it. For the Tesla, using a flash drive makes sense if you can rip the files, but if not, or you just like the feeling of loading up the CDs like I do, this works well. Those are great thoughts though on using it.
Can you play Tapes there too?
was your ipod formatted to a mac or pc
So have you lost your ability to have sentry mode, and recordings of someone crashes into you etc?
No, I use a hub so that I can have both plugged in
CD's are old school now...
