    this is as per column position concentric and as per eccentricity produced by moments it is eccentric . when columns are provided at the boundary or or in the center of footing many of us consider as eccentric... many desgners combine this to nearby footing or provide strap beam

    This is not eccentric footing,its a concentric footing.

    Excellent! The two triangles that you have to calculate Mx & My. one of the triangle is not right angle and the result mathematically is not correct.
    You could use trapezoidal area = {(sum of parallel sides)x height}/2. Thank you !

    Good ... . What if the column is to one side of the footing like footing size is 2.4 x 2.1 column is at the edge of the footing at any side.

  • @dhananjayapaderu4516
    @dhananjayapaderu4516 Před 2 lety

    This is concentric footing. We provide eccentric footings when we don't have enough space on at least one side of footing in site. Here, using the size whatever require as per bearing capacity.

    • @dhananjayapaderu4516
      @dhananjayapaderu4516 Před 2 lety

      ok, to keep the size, but we can't keep equal offsets from column and design will be different

  • @engrgep

    Why in determining size of the ftg u dont used the 2.82?
    Why for checking for size u add and minus Both direction x and y?
    And for pressure diagram u add and minus M/z in each direction?

    • @abcxyz01011981
      @abcxyz01011981 Před 2 lety

      Pressure diagram is only showing what shall happen in one direction and how to calculate for single direction.
      But as we have to find Maximum Pressure, the column footing will undergo.
      And thus "Moment in x and y" both directions will play role in actual loading condition
      that too at the same time along with "Axial Load".
      So Pmax = (Axial Force/Area)+(Moment Mx/Section Modulus Zx)+(Moment My/Section Modulus Zy)

      @@anand4236 I donot have the link , however I know how one should proceed to get approx results, but I would recommend a finite element software to get pressure checks, shear checks and bending moment value.
