I really like the scene when the friends go to the house and sit with Janet, and when Janet goes off with the golf club in the house. She displayed so much emotions in those scenes because they were shot right after she found out that Michael passed away. To know that was the main reason she was crying like that in that scene is so heartbreaking to me. I still cried while watching that after all of these years.
While I've not seen these movies, I recall Janet arriving to the BET Award Show in 2009 and them mentioning she was flying in from an overseas project. I never made the connection until seeing your comment here.
Yeah, but the scene where the guy punches the other guy who has cancer is hilarious. Best scene. Top ten of comedies.

@@Kiana-cp3ro Nah, that was hilarious, like when the guy runs out into incoming traffic at the end and then dies, due to the movie needing 15 mins more of runtime. Tyler Perry at his best.

Great Title, I so loved Janet in this the way she jacked up the house and that Birthday surprise for Gavin OMG!, but Jill Scott's character needs her tail slapped for helping Mike out in any way, shape, fashion or form. How the hell you go ask for help from your previous abuser AND assist him at his house without telling Troy?? That was wrong on so many levels.

I totally get where you're coming from. Sheila (Jilly from Philly) did that due to her compassionate nature...which Mike (Richard T. Jones...w/his sexy chocolate for no good reason ass) very well played upon being that Sheila and him were ex spouses. Of course, Sheila didn't tell Troy (handsome Lamman Rucker) for two reasons~~1) come on~~how you go to your current husband and tell him you are attempting to nurse back to health the ex husband who dissed and dismissed you? 2)~~knowing Sheila is compassionate in nature, had she told Troy, Troy would have attempted to talk her out of it ('you nurse that n**** back to health being he's sick. Are you going to nurse me, your husband, back to health when i become sick?" You know how dudes are, IAm).
(sigh) what can you do, IAm??? Granted, Mike isn't ~~ish...but we stay getting bombarded with "turn the other cheek", taking the Ghandi approach, etc.
BJP Ugly Duckling Lamman and Mr Jones smdh___________omg___________now what were we saying? (Snap out of it girl lol) Sheila would be the one to take Mike back if it did'nt workout with Troy out of sorrow and loneliness. Mike was such a turd to Sheila and in typical scummy-selfish fashion only wanted to make amends witj Sheila because he was dying (sickness and death always brings out the fake in everybody) other than that he could've gave to damn F-'s about Sheila.
Now the real shocker in all of this was Janet's character, yet it played a real life part and experience which is the one you think has it all together typically is the main one who does'nt at all. Trying her best to give others advice yet sitting in a gasoline of a situation that she called marriage. She drove Gavin to drink because he really was a good guy to her. I did'nt like the fact they killed him off, it should've been Mike who got the Axe because he was no longer married making his character expendable.
Yeah.....that Patricia & Gavin mess was some mess. Front in' lime she has it all together...when she doesn't (and yet she was the Black Dear Abby or rather the Shirley Strawberry from Steve Harvey Morning Show in both "Why Did I Get Married?" Flicks).

In the scene where Gavin & Patricia were fighting ( & Terry & Marcus showed up) the part where Janet smashed the table with the golf club, that wasn't supposed to happen like that. Tyler Perry said it himself. She only did that when she got the phone call about her brother Michael.
The scene was supposed to happen, but they weren't expecting so much raw emotion from her. The raw emotion was because she heard about her brother passing away. She even accidentally hurt herself with the golf club.
I think ALL of their reactions to her acting in that scene was very real, too. Tyler and Michael Jai White looked terrified. LOL.

I just noticed how distant and upset Janet's character looked in the scene when Troy and Michael had their disagreement in the Bahamas. She looked like she was miles away.
I went to see this movie and it was so good that I want to see it again. Tyler Perry did a great job with this movie.

Janet looks so much younger and prettier with this weight. I just watched the first one again and not to be mean but she did look as good. Just form this trailer I find her to be the same sexy Janet as I remember when I was younger.

I just watched Conan the Destroyer again for the first time in decades: Michael Jae White looks like he copied his crazy face from Grace Jones, wide beady eyed and flashing teeth.
Wait, is Janet meant to be a mix of the protagonist and antagonist, but ultimately the protagonist who causes Dwayne The Rock Johnson mental damage after one day of shoots? When she cries, it's like a blobfish without water wearing semi-blackface. With that said 9.8/10, great movie. I laughed and cried. However, I had to reduce .2, it just didn't feel exploitative enough, so many cliches and random violence, but at times it felt like somebody was attempting to make a movie, mostly the beginning and ending credits. Definitely buy this movie and do not watch it for free.

i thought shelia was going to be thinner & healthier in this reunion. her new found boyfriend was a healthy outdoors kind of guy & i figured shed be happy & confident in herself now that she had a good man so she wouldnt still be eating her feelings. very disappointed & that relationship just doesnt ring true.

Yeah, it's hard to see a hero like Troy portrayed in this manner. He's clearly the protagonist and the ending is the ultimate tragedy, because I'm not buying Dwayne The Rock Johnson spending a second, let alone donate money to any university or charity, to spend time with Michael Jackson.
