- My name is Tanner Owen and I am from Boise, ID. Aside from a very small amount of drumming in high school, I have really only been drumming for almost 2 years now. I am mostly self taught with a little help from 180 drums (do yourself a favor and check them out) and my latest instructor Matt Halpern of Periphery (If you're a drummer in need of lessons, he's your guy).
Amity Affliction has been a favorite of mine for a few years now and it would be well worth your time to check them out.
The kit set up may look a little odd to some people and its because im 6'8" and have to set things up a little differently to make things comfortable. I'm using my Mapex Mars 5-piece crossover series kit with Mapex Mars/Armory hardware, Meinl cymbals, Evans drum heads, DW 9000xf pedals, and Vater sticks.

Hey man, I started drumming 13 years ago and I know how much work it takes to master them, after all these years I'm still learning new stuff It's such a complex and diverse instrument and I am reeally amazed of how fluid and comfortable you play after only 2 years 🤘🤘 keep it up man I subbed 💪

What skins are you using on the set? and is that snare the standard Mars snare? Just curious as this is the set I'm looking to get, it's got such a great tone.
Peter Stockman thanks man I really appreciate it, they are all the Evans onyx heads, and yes it is just the stock mars snare with the onyx head. I've upgraded to a dw acrylic set and still find myself using this mapex snare a lot of the time.
