    Look! See! Yonder field of flower and fawn! With a smile and a tear she waits by the morning fire. Here there was once a dream, a life in innocent freedom. They ran and played as children, with fawns in the sparkling dew. They ran and ran into new lands, carrying with them the field, as a wreath of flowers, ever-blooming in morning sun. Laughter as a river flowing into secret valleys, through hidden forests of Ancient Secrets. The wise wait around the corner, wait for the dance to begin. Once all the dancers arrive, the tangled roots and branches grab hold of the mountains and sky and forge a new land beyond.

    I can just imagine hearing is fine instrument on a long arduous passage on those tall ships that often last more than a few months at a time and worse when they got to go through some real bad straits like around the Cape Horn of the South Africa or even Argentina that horn there too very very very rough going

    I'm very curious how you manage to vibrate the string, the buzz sound. I understand that the change in speed make them buzz, but you accelerate the beat, maybe with weed but I don't get how it makes separate noises 😬

    Mr. Vinogradov,
    You're too far into your craft to not use a visual cue for the timing of your compositions.
    Please try using a metronome or strobe to help you time up the accompaniment/backing track.
    Your wonderful musical abilities and creativity for complex arrangement both deserve the benefit of this simple trick!
    Kindly,
    P.A.

    • @karlthomson8686
      @karlthomson8686 Před rokem +10

      I've listened to this piece several times and I've found absolutely nothing wrong with timing. Keep in mind that this is traditional music and the playing of such is dictated by the musician especially when playing the melody solo. Listen to several of the worlds best Uilleann pipers playing the same slow air.....none of them will be identical. The timing, but mostly the 'feel' of the tune is entirely in the hands of the person playing. Also keep in mind that this type of music existed long before there was standardized sheet music which by virtue of it's nature restricts a musician to what is on paper....not what's in the heart and the hands.

    • @highseassailor
      @highseassailor Před rokem

      @@karlthomson8686 Karl, I have respect your comment. However, I've listened to this arrangement several times as well. I remain absolutely confident that a modern ear will appreciate the various modern advancements in musical technology (such as a metronome or strobe) in their ability to assist in sharpening the skillets of the composer. And I dare say, sharpen the ability of lesser trained ears on some fans too! Some may choose to stick with the old ways for the sake of the old ways... Simply, not me!
      Good day Sir.

      @@highseassailor A couple of very minor imperfections, or deliberate/a part of the natural flow (which means it is intended rather than an imperfection), instead of (artificial) studio perfection is usually what can lend a great atmosphere and makes music feel alive, lends it some depth. Forcing something to have zero misses often makes it boring and unnatural. I also find it a wee bit funny you think you know better than this legendary player how to play his instrument “better”, but alas - overinflated ego’s is the nature of the internet. :)
