      @pon1 Před 3 lety

      @@v101damnations Yeah, I do agree with that, or at least until 351elec has comparable loading times. Maybe a loading time comparison so that we know what the actual difference is? That might give a lot of incentive to work on getting them shorter. I don't actually mind the loading times of the games that much, but the loading time when the system is off until we get to the main menu is really long on 351elec and from what I understand ArkOS has much shorter loading time in that regard.

    Just invested in a couple of spare SD cards so now going to put 351ELEC on one, ArkOS on another and keep one with Stock OS on. 😊
    Literally only just finished installing ArkOS so need to set it up and install roms/bios etc.
    Without your guidance this would be almost impossible to fathom out. ❤
    The SD card slot on my pc does not work so I've had to put micro SD into normal size adaptor then that into a usb adaptor to write everything. Sometimes Win10 wont see that creation so I have to keep plugging it in and out until it works lol. Oh and also I had to download and install ArkOS twice as downloaded the wrong version first time. 🤣
    A couple of hours later roms and bios transferred, copied ports from one SD to my PC then remove SD and replace with other (containing ArkOS) now transferring ports to it and Then to restart my RG351 and delve into settings.
    That's been my Halloween lol.

    It is what it is... I don't hide my feelings on the Anbernic handhelds (I own quite a few as well as many others), with that said... Anbernic makes a clean well put together emulation device, they really nailed the design and quality. I just can't get over how they are so damn underpowered with so much thought put into the build quality. Aside from the typical retro systems you get EXTREMELY hit or miss emulation for the systems we really want to play and that is a deal breaker for me personally. I'm sure you spoke with the developer and their claims are true, but I can't help but wonder if the vanilla retro emulation capabilities of all Anbernic handhelds is playing a part in their choice to cease their OS development. Does anyone else get let down when specs on a new Anbernic handheld get released? I know I do... every... single... time... and then the ridiculous decision to scrap wifi on the 351?!? I went ahead and hard modded a cheap 2.4ghz module in my 351p, but why such a huge decision to just remove wifi all together? It has been proven a speaker wire relocation or a cheap wire insulation/shielding option could have remedied the entire sound/wifi situation. Rant over... I hope Anbernic has some horsepower in their future or the 351 will be my last purchase from them.

    The sd cards that are shipped with these are of poor quality and often fail, I recommend the first thing new owners do is backup the card onto a quality one.

    Hey Russ. Quick question, I've been using arkos for a while now with zero issues up until now. Now suddenly when I boot it up it defaults to 1% system volume and I have to go to the settings and change it to 100% to use the volume wheel properly. Does your sage wisdom have a fix for this? Am on final release btw.

    I was considering getting the 351 until I saw those other awesome devices at the beginning… now I’m conflicted.

    Used this video to set up my 351m that arrived today, already loving this device. Thank you for putting the perfect video out for this!
    I just have one question: are there menus for the other emulator options? I'm using the standalone rice emulator for 64, but I don't know if it has a menu like retroarch. If there is a menu, how do I open it?

      Hi, great timing! Unfortunately some emulators (like the standalone N64 emulator, and the RetroRun Dreamcast emulator) don't have menus. It's just the way those were built.

    Thanks for the video, really helps. I just don’t manage to change the background. I saved a JPG in 24bits in 640x480 (RG351V)… any advise ? Thanks.

    Just spent the afternoon installing this and adding games etc before realising there's no & key on the keyboard when entering the WiFi password. Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this? Otherwise ill need to switch to 351ELEC

    Question: is there a way to create specific subfolders to organize games? For example, inside snes folder, can I create a “shmups” folder? Or some similar method?

    Do you know by any chance how to save state while using a N64 standalone emulator ?
    Cheers !

    am i the only one who prefers rgui over xmb?

    • @RetroGameCorps
      @RetroGameCorps  Před 3 lety

      I think plenty of others like it, but I often get questions about how to bring XMB up, or comments that "RetroArch looks wrong" on ArkOS. So that part was for them :)

    ArkOS still recommended for 351p now? Or is amberelec the recommended one onwards?
    And does batocera works properly for these handhelds, other than inability to play ports?

    Hey, just wondering, what's the game at 1:42, with the soldier dropping from the helicopter? It unlocked some childhood memories, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of that game.
    Later edit: found it, it's Super C!
