You aren't any different than people who complained "writing a book on a laptop and sending digital copies to multiple publishers is NOT REAL WRITING compared to writing MULTIPLE copies of your book with ink and paper and INDIVIDUALLY, PHYSICALLY mailing them to each and every publisher." AI generated slop winning a competition is such a fall from grace. It's a disgrace and a massive middle finger to all those who worked their hearts out making actual art.
If he trained it using his own renders that'd be one thing, but training "your own models" could mean anything. There's zero process here and the images aren't really inspired. Even AI users have to admit that given the approach used here, the outcome is pretty standard for Stable Diffusion.
