I did speed work for the first time today, even with a mild head cold I got up off the bench and just felt weirdly refreshed the entire time. I felt like I was putting in good work while not destroying myself.

Same. I'm a 4 plate bencher at 38yo, all natural. I did "speed bench" banded toward the end of last week and i truly believe it's been the missing link. Keep me posted here as to how ur work is going.

ok, so that's how this excercise called.
I've been often doing it, but thought it was wrong.
the only difference is that my press speed is a quite lower in order to make the workload more "fixed" or so.

I love it although those 4x25 warm ups take a toll on how much I can lift at the moment I'm sure they will pay off in the long run! Also, a closer super tight grip on my bench takes away shoulder pain! Thanks for these excellent videos and I highly recommend your digital course.

You do have a point it does have to do with overall more volume but learning to lift faster/more explosive does help to push through points when weights get heavier. However speed work doesn’t really have a benefit if you’re beginner and have not built a base of strength first
