For your water leak problem. Try JB weld steelstik or similar as a temporary solution to see if welding something permanent will be the solution. I'm not sure how long it will last but it's a cheap fix to try 👍
My boat sank recently and the refit is nearly complete. Seeing the colours of your video is making me so eager to get back on the cut. It’s so majestic in autumn.

Hi May. Please try to avoid pushing the boat off with a pole when everything is so damp. It would be so easy for you to slip and hurt yourself. Much better to adjust the position of the boat with the engine.
It's great to see an independent young woman striking out on her own and making the best of life, but a couple of bits in this video made me genuinely uncomfortable - the bit where you were on the the "wrong" side of the lock gate and it pushed you back towards the edge and the bit walking on the roof. The danger boating solo in winter isn't so much the depth of water, but cold shock, where it's all too easy to drown in relatively shallow water (sadly, Nicola Bulley appears to have been an example of this). At the very least, please give some thought to what you can do to ease getting out of the water if you fell in wearing a big coat and wellies on a freezing day with no-one else to assist, but I'd also recommend considering a self-inflating life jacket. Big tough lifeboatmen wear them, as do a lot of lock volunteers (even in summer). It's nothing to be ashamed of being sensible and taking reasonable precautions for your own safety.
You can also direct that comment to anyone near water. One can easily fall into the water walking their dog. I am very sure May is safer and more familiar with her boat than off it. She could easily trip over a hidden tree root on the towpath, fall in, bang her head and end up in the water with no buoyancy aid on. Caution is no doubt May’s utmost priority. As anyone that is living on or near water.

I've been involved in two water rescues which were undoubtedly life saving events. I've also seen quite a lot of drownings in my locality over the years. There's a world of difference between the risk of tripping and falling from a towpath and the risk of slipping whilst operating a boat or a lock (although Nicola Bulley's family might argue otherwise). Everyone who spends a lot of time around boats eventually falls in. I've done it and it's not until you do that you realise just how hard it is to get back on a lot of them without assistance. The bigger concern though is winter temperatures. Falling in during summer is generally a bit of a laugh. In winter, the first few seconds can be life or death due to the way human physiology reacts. That's why, as a fit and strong man, I'd still wear a lifejacket handling a boat solo in winter and would urge others to do the same.
May! Can i ask... how far do you have to move on for continuous cruising to make it 'legit'.. And how long do you have to wait before returning to a previous spot? 👀👀😀

Who prunes the trees along the canal. They would get so overgrown over time if you did nothing.
