I love Diane don't get me wrong. What i don't like is the misinformation regarding her start. She came from a priviledged background, she arrived in NYC when she already had a name to herself and influential friends waiting for her. She comes from a jewish background, and back then, there were a lot of people who backed her probably. She is a tramendeous woman with an impressive carreer, but please, don't make it sound like she came from a very poor family and had nothing to eat. Also, the days when u could really make it in NYC with only a baggage full of clothes are long gone. That country is going downhill very fast

honestly, I'm reading her memoir right now and feel the same way. I don't really find her to be some incredibly wise woman either when a lot was handed to her. The book to me is disappointing and it's mainly just about all the people she slept around with while partying a ton.
