I just discovered you guys today! Heard a song on a radio station in California and all my friends in the car go "Holy COW what is this band?? Quick!! Someone look it up!" Then found you guys on the internet, been listening to your songs all morning and looking up your concert tour schedule now. Thank you for bringing such rich cultured music to my world and making the world a more beautiful place.
Watched this guy in person in poplar bluff, mo.. sometime in the 2010's... He's got a heavy shadow over him, replacing and all.. but he sounds just as good In person.
He's probably the only person who can sing the songs that chris originally sang. Didn't think it was possible to find a replacement, but they did it. The newer songs are great too

Bluegrass music is a genre of American roots music that developed in the 1940s in the United States Appalachian region. The genre derives its name from the band Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys. ... Monroe characterized the genre as: "Scottish bagpipes and ole-time fiddlin'.
@@toadfax7448 So you copied that bit directly from the Wikipedia introductory paragraph and I assume without reading anything else 😂 It's not entirely accurate, especially trying to use it in the sole context you did.
The point I was making is that the Blue in Bluegrass came from the name of the band, not Blues music. Yes...Bluegrass was influenced by the blues (primarily Delta Blues...which I didn't know...thanks for pointing that out), but the roots of that style of music go back a couple of centuries. Before being popularized, Bluegrass was considered folk music. Irish folk music is largely credited as the biggest influence.
This group and chris has been a huge comfort to me over the last year. My wife left me, and the sound of this group gives me the heart felt feeling of the past. God had must have blest chips with that voice. It reaches the heart every time I hear him. 👍👍👍
My mind is blown ! I’ve loved this song for years and just now watching the video do I realize it is NOT Chris Stapleton WOW that singer sounds great I love it !!!!
Greetings baby !!! As our 10th year anniversary rolls around I think of you all the time !! Our children are good and I love you baby !!! BRAD LEE HOUGHTON
I love these stories lines and all the instruments. You all are so talented. Thanks for a lifetime of memories and Ear Candie's. 2022 live life and love
Don't know where they filmed this but it takes me back to the South Carolina of my youth where our summers were spent swimming in the creeks and running wild in the woods.
I have one bluegrass song called "Out There On The Yard", Jeremy Dean of The Nashville Hit Songwriter Series At The Bluebird, cowrote. Out of everything I have it's the only one that sounds bluegrass. And it Rocks! More than that I lived it. It's about being in prison, and sentenced to die. Jeremy, stayed on me The SteelDrivers cutting the song. Was back when Stapleton was with them. Life..sometimes ya' get caught up, and you're just too busy. By the time I'd gotten around to discussing this further, Chris had left. The Velvet Blue, picked it up and their frontman left. Sometimes ya' just can't win. But, I'd be just as pleased to hear it from this lineup. They Rock! There's a few different videos on here of Jeremy Dean doing "Out There On The Yard"..with intro..without intro. All are good. Ya'll check it out. These guys could tear it up!
Beautiful song. Chris Stapleton is irreplaceable but Gary Nichols is great is the best thing that could have happened to Steeldrivers after Stapleton. Love from Pakistan 😍😍😍
As a bluegrass fiddle player myself, she has such an excellent sound and technique! The first Steeldrivers song I heard was "Sticks that bring Thunder" - I got like 30 seconds in and thought, "This is some high quality 10/10 fiddle!"

I saw these folks for the first time on Larry's Country Diner last night, I really like this. It would be GREAT if they would replace Florida Georgia Line on Country Radio.
I'm new on the scene 😊 and I can't get enough! I thought this was The Steeldrivers w/ Chris Stapleton. Who is the new singer and what was the last album that Chris Stapleton was on with The Steel Drivers?
Gary Nichols is an excellent replacement for Chris, Gary has always been in the band since its inception and it only seems proper to have him step up as lead vocalist.
absolutely love this song....wish it was on the cd I had bought....great band...so glad my angels brought me across their path. Would love to see them in person.....I wouldn't be able to sit n watch them...my feet n legs & Spirit wouldn't allow that..!!
I love this band, one guy in the app for leaners the new linguage show me, I love her voice and all group is very good! Gary voice have emotion I like that. By the way I'm from Brazil.
I have many memories of sitting on the porch while family played Blue Grass. Ricky Skaggs, Scruggs and Flat right in out home town when Rick was just a boy. Good ole Martha, KY
This is a criminally under-rated song
You said it!
Nailed it!
Can't get enough of the SDs!!! The new singer is great. Keep on making that good music!!!
THERE IS NOTHING THAT GOD AND JESUS COULD TEACH ME TONIGHT BUT THIS.
Tammy’s harmonies is like that sweet tea that just tops it all off
Nichols is so good that I thought he was a younger Stapleton. I love this!
hello, how are you doing it is nice meeting you here.
Those Boys in Grey be my ancestors.
THANK YOU for keeping Bluegrass alive !!
We Rebel Flag wavin' backwoods boys in PigeonForge,Tn. Love yall !!!
The SteelDrivers are one of those bands where I can’t find a song that I don’t like
2nd that.
Every one of em...kick sphincter....one of my favorite groups...kinda bluegrass rock or something...
Ain't none
So rare and awesome 🤗
Can't be done !

man. this never gets old. so much twang and killer harmonies like at the end there
Wait. What? This is Chris Stapletons old band? Well, learn something new everyday. Such a kick ass band
Legit bluegrass vocal power, and fantastic band. Great songwriting. The whole enchilada.

So good, even without the mighty chops of Chris Stapleton, this new singer is bonkers, Steeldrivers ftw!
He's probably the only person who can sing the songs that chris originally sang. Didn't think it was possible to find a replacement, but they did it. The newer songs are great too
that is chris' voice, lol
no one gave Gary any credit for being his on singer / replacing chris and also being a mean mother effer on the 6 string. something chris was not.
