Nick of Time "No way! You're just a kid! Maybe when you're older! *panda crash "Hahahahaha, pan pan is fat, hahahahaha, he fell on you, ahahaha, he's a good bear, hahahaha"
Frost I know this is kind of late, but I have the Highway Star Famicom cart and pressing select does do the blurred vision effect (although it's a bit different than the US version), it's one of the very few games that uses the Famicom 3D System.
It was an absolute thrill for me to play this game when it was first released. I can't put into words just how much fun I had going over steep hills, going around sharp curves while trying to control the vehicle from hitting something on the side, and the eagerness to experience what was around the next turn.
It all sounds so different without the rev of my turbo engine over it, haha! This is one of my favorite games I ever had on my NES. I played it constantly. Never beat it, but dang would I love to try again someday.
I love this game, being able to change the music as if it was the car radio was amazing.... back in the 80s anyway. I was able to beat it, but I'm not sure if I could beat it these days :3 Thanks for the music!
***** To be fair, his 16 bit days were awesome and FF7's soundtrack was largely high-end. And I loved his Advent Children score. But I will agree, about half way through the 32-bit era he did lose a log of his magic.
BushiBato Absolutely it is! I meant what he had to work with, not his musical talent. I spent hours playing this game when it came out and loved the music.
I was so shocked when this music came on playing Rad Racer for the first time; I was like "Holy fuck, it's Stinkoman!" In my childhood, I only ever had Rad Racer II, so this was kinda refreshing to me to try the first installment.
Yo, loved this game as a kid. I put this in and hit the gas when my mom started trippin. I can't wait for someone to do covers or these tracks. Edit: Man I can hear my car accelerating while listening to this.
oh and on a random side note the ending music of this rad racer game soundtrack remind me of the music of ice climbers for some reason due to how it sounded more jazzy
Anyone listen to bluegrass? I think the first song on this game could redone in bluegrass. I think this is the only racing game with music that ever made me feel like that... lol.
the music of this rad racer game sounded so much like the music of the first final fantasy nes game compare to the music of the second rad racer game soundtrack that sounded like it belongs in a nes/famicom konami game soundtrack which i was acoustomed to when i used to play rad racer 2 on my nes alot back in the early 90s when i was probably 4 years old maybe 5 years i unfortunately never played the first rad racer game sadly enough which i can't explain why so i had no nestalgic glasses on this rad racer game soundtrack compare to the sequel that i was personally more nestalgic too from how i remember in my personal mindset
Challenge and fighting and Fighting the challenge tonight. Everybody's fighting for the Challenge of the fighting and the Challenge and fighting and Fighting the challenge tonight.
I'll disagree since Squaresoft was awesome until they became Square Enix. But I will point out that, since this game came out, there has been exactly 1 good Zelda game, and it was called 'A Link to the Past'
It still makes me sad that this channel put so much effort into preserving these old soundtracks, but added a bunch of post effects to the songs. It is disrespectful to the original composers if nothing else.
I never knew Uematsu did this, explains why I was addicted to this game's music.
Uematsu is a musical genius.
Just discovered this just now. I've been enjoying this soundtrack my entire life and JUST found out. Crazy.
Hey Stinko Man everybody says you're the guy, but I want to be the guy too!
Nick of Time "No way! You're just a kid! Maybe when you're older!

+Pancho Gomez that's to get 3d mode on!
Get your 80s red+blue 3d glasses, and it's on!
But you knew that already ^_^
Frost I know this is kind of late, but I have the Highway Star Famicom cart and pressing select does do the blurred vision effect (although it's a bit different than the US version), it's one of the very few games that uses the Famicom 3D System.
This comment made my day.
ikr, in mexico we used to call it "vision borracha" haha
Yeah, you didn’t though.
It was an absolute thrill for me to play this game when it was first released. I can't put into words just how much fun I had going over steep hills, going around sharp curves while trying to control the vehicle from hitting something on the side, and the eagerness to experience what was around the next turn.
Challenge the fighting and Fighting the challenge tonight.
dude what the fuck did you came up with that?
I used to use Track 3 only when I played this.
Final Fantasy? What's that? This is the greatest creation from Square! Sakaguchi and Uematsu are gods, thanks for blessing us with this masterpiece.
FF it got really good music to bro but this is something alses
It all sounds so different without the rev of my turbo engine over it, haha! This is one of my favorite games I ever had on my NES. I played it constantly. Never beat it, but dang would I love to try again someday.
There's a code you can input every time you die to get an extra life (and you can repeat it indefinitely, basically getting infinite continues) ;)
I love this game, being able to change the music as if it was the car radio was amazing.... back in the 80s anyway. I was able to beat it, but I'm not sure if I could beat it these days :3 Thanks for the music!

Challenge and fighting and fighting the challenge tonight!
My childhood in session. Part 2 was okay, but the original dominates!!
“Hey Stinkoman! Everybody says you’re the guy, but I wanna be the guy too!”
I love that unbenounced to Nobuo, there are lyrics to Radio Station 1.
20X6! *does a front flip*
My left ear is enjoying this.
song #3 was my nighttime driving song!
Haha, YES! I just searched CZcams for Rad Racer's music and Wiiguy309's link shows up. Good work, as usual!
I like how the ending theme became the FF6 cafe music (a.k.a. Johnny C. Badd).
I friggin enjoyed playing this game.. Never finished it but it was fun. 👋👽👍
ahh Nobuo Uematsu, how far you've come from this :D
If only he could remain in his 8Bit days! XP
***** To be fair, his 16 bit days were awesome and FF7's soundtrack was largely high-end. And I loved his Advent Children score. But I will agree, about half way through the 32-bit era he did lose a log of his magic.
+intenselan And to think he was constrained to square, triangle, and percussion (with the other square needed for the car's engine...)
+intenselan What!?This is great on its own right
BushiBato Absolutely it is! I meant what he had to work with, not his musical talent. I spent hours playing this game when it came out and loved the music.
I always switched to Radio station 1 when I needed to get juiced
Sounds like a battle theme. I like it.
are you asking for a CHALLLLLLLENGE?
hey look it's lkj
I was so shocked when this music came on playing Rad Racer for the first time; I was like "Holy fuck, it's Stinkoman!"

Track three 🔥 🔥 🔥
Rad Racer - Thumbs Up 🎵🎵🎵
This is the game that paved the way for Final Fantasy. Rad Racer was developed by the team that would later work on Final Fantasy I.
I used to get hype to track 1 and 3 there the best
Memories of playing this on my uncles 80s Nintendo i played this and zelda❤
Want to try this as background music while driving haha of course still grounded to reality ;)
Thank you for the nostalgia
Ahhh radio station 2... with the jazzy break.
CHALLENGE AND FIGHTING AND FIGHTING AND CHALLENGE TONIIIIGHT!
SOMETHING-N'-ASOMETHING-N'-ASOMETHING!
The Rad Racer soundtrack could’ve appeared in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line.
Japanese Cartoons are wierd, man
Weird.
Duh 🙄
no
Why?
gotta have blue hair
this game is also known as Highway Star in japan.
Yo, loved this game as a kid. I put this in and hit the gas when my mom started trippin. I can't wait for someone to do covers or these tracks.
Edit: Man I can hear my car accelerating while listening to this.
Why this game is not on the NES Mini is beyond me!
oh and on a random side note the ending music of this rad racer game soundtrack remind me of the music of ice climbers for some reason due to how it sounded more jazzy
5:00 Best Theme :D
Thank you.
thank you so much, brotha
the original fast and furious
HOLY CRAP! I SO DIDN'T KNOW NOBUO was for this one O_o
Challenge and fighting and fighting and challenge tonight...
ahh the good old day!
Sounds so weird without the roar of the road and the Turbo kicking in.
ARE YOU ASKING FOR A CHALLENGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?!?!?!
2:25 that's when the accelerator is to the floor.
Song 2 is my most favorite. That sometimes plays by mistake on Track 1.
Ohhhhhh yeahhhhhhh
Earlier work of the Final Fantasy I team
When I was through with the game, I had sold it a pawn shop (to acquire other games). But Dooooh, I should have kept it! :D
great game :)
The word rad in title AND 3d action? Shut up and take my money!
Anyone listen to bluegrass? I think the first song on this game could redone in bluegrass. I think this is the only racing game with music that ever made me feel like that... lol.
5:00 fucking great!!!!
5:00 - the best track 👍
Song 1 an 3 are 🔥🔥🔥
My life is in your hands.
"Highway Star!!!!!"
EXCUSE ME SIR BUT ARE YOU ASKING FOR A CHALLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENGE????

Doesn't sound right without the high pitched engine noise over the top of it....haha
IT'S CHALLENGE TIME !
someone needs to synth this and make it for car driviing
Please post the Rad Racer 2 OST please. I really like the music from that game as well.
Final Fantasy composer does racing game music :P
The first track made me drive faster
20X6!!!

@5:00
mortal kombat theme
"Composer Nobuo Uematsu", Woah, had no idea O_o
Tommy Sasaki it explain everything, i was shocked too :p
Very basic when it comes to what the NES could do, but still great compositions nontheless, specially for its time!
Strong Bad Japanese Cartoon anyone? Lol
Challenge and fighting and
Fighting the challenge tonight.
Everybody's fighting for the

Challenge and fighting and
Fighting the challenge tonight.
Hey, isn't that magician song from house of the dead
5:00 sounds similar to Mission Impossible...almost like a parody of.
20X6!
Square's last good game, and Uematsu's best soundtrack.
Wait, what? This is hardly Square's last good game.
***** You're right. It was actually Rad Racer II.
Nitro Game Injection Going to make the assumption that you're not into RPG's. The OST for FF6 is his best work.
I'll disagree since Squaresoft was awesome until they became Square Enix. But I will point out that, since this game came out, there has been exactly 1 good Zelda game, and it was called 'A Link to the Past'
Jonathan Kozenko What about Link's Awakening?
Famicom Title : HIGHWAY STAR
You gotta have blue hair.
Creeper beat
who else had the 3d glasses?
I never actually liked the songs for this game I always listened to the initial d soundtrack while playing lol
It still makes me sad that this channel put so much effort into preserving these old soundtracks, but added a bunch of post effects to the songs. It is disrespectful to the original composers if nothing else.
You seem sad about that.
First time I ever heared the ending song, cauz I never was able to beat the game, lol. Song is lame btw xD
stereo ruins this ost.
This used to be my favorite driving game, but then I found out it was a ripoff of a much better driving game. It's still really good though.
What game would that be?
dmace81 Sega's outrun
This guy got way to much time in his hands all he did was play each song on the game and uploaded here on you tube even I can do that
My computer played this song. It's annoying
WTF
Faaaaaaaaaake.
