@@bbanksracing Yeah. I got the game for my birthday, and got to the final boss without much trouble (except for the spinning clam boss, that one was annoying) and i got stuck at DJ Octavio. That last hit on him felt so satisfying
@@evagarcia865 I thought I had to do the same three hits on Octavio. Turns out you had to progress through the level LIKE ALL THE OTHER NON BOSS STAGES. Got so stumped on that part I had to ask dad to look up how to beat him.

The fact these were used in the war with inklings and octolings is kinda spooky
Also I can hear the boss screams probably the octolings society losing their power
I recall hearing that the fight against Octavio was deliberately made to be unnecessarily difficult.
That just makes me smile for some reason.

At the Octavia battle, you could notice parts got cut out. That's where he actually took damage.

Found it funny that they cut out the parts where they landed from super jumping on the ink because it took “damage” but it’s not really because you jump to anywhere randomly
I've tried standing in enemy ink for a few hours to see if it kills you, but it doesn't. So I honestly don't know if just landing in enemy ink hurts you or just slows you down.
@@seasaltz6538 yeah it doesn’t kill you, who said it did? You still get hurt from it but it doesn’t kill you unless you get shot a couple times
@@miggs6791 if doesn't kill you then it doesn't hurt you either, seeing as how it would destroy your armor too if it did hurt you. So therefore ink doesn't hurt you. I don't know how you interpreted my original comment, but thats what I was trying to point out. 🤪
@@seasaltz6538 i know this is like 8 month old comment but standing in enemy ink does damage you, there's even a judd tip explaining that being in enemy ink slows and hurts you.
Being in enemy ink can only deal a total of 50 damage, which is half of your health.
Ink resistance up also mentions that it reduces damage taken from being in enemy ink

for the people who say "these bosses are easy, how did we nearly lose the great turf war?"
Ok so imagine going up against these, not one, but multiple as they are pretty much tanks, infantry support vehicles, with only a bamboozler and octarian infantry charging alongside them.
Yes it is easy to fight them, but that's like being a trained anti tank soldier with a panzershrek and a terrain that literally allows you to become invisible

So nostalgic. Played it at least 5 years ago as well. Finished right till the end. I'm sad they did not continue the first one. Alas splatoon 1 and nintendo Wii u games were the original games for me. Loved em. Reached level 50.
You must have the Canadian version or something because dj Octavio' s dialogue was completely different. In the American version he says a bunch of music references and fish puns.

Splatoon 1’s Hero Shot was a beauty and a treasure. I miss it and Splatoon 1 but it’s too bad you can’t get ‘em anymore

I honestly actually miss the Octowhirl and Octomaw a lot.
I wish they added revamped versions of these bosses in Octo Expansion instead of Splatoon 2’s bosses.

What I like about splatoon 1 is that it has a darker color pallet but it the sequel, it is more colorful. I like the way splatoon 1 had darker colors exceptioning the ink.

I really like the Splatoon bosses. Theres a cool spinner guy that charges at you, a robot fish and a squid DJ. They're pretty creative.
