Apple car play was available on the 2019s confirmed on my 19 RST. I think you meant the wireless feature was not available until 2021 units

Not sure why IOR infotainment radios are unable to receive this upgrade. Other than the Navigation card slot, I'm not sure what's different about the wiring that it wouldn't work.

Looks like I need to buy an additional antenna for my 2019, but I almost can't justify spending that since I have everything except wireless Android Auto in my HC.
Fair point, but it is really nice once you have it. Now that I've used it to it I'll never by a vehicle again without it. If you plan on owning your truck for several years it still might be worth doing now so you can enjoy it for longer.

I got a cluster from a 2020 high country and saw it has the same module that you installed, would be plug and play on my 2019 RST? Or would i need to reprogram it with my VIN number?

Thanks for the video! Couldn’t have done it with watching. Only issue is my maps are blank. The screen comes on but no map. Even when you search foe a location, just a white map.

Did you ever consider the obdgeni? They claim just plug there equipment into obd port and insert Sd card card and you have factory Nav.

I didn't see how you installed the plug cluster in your center console that you put the SD card in my 2022 silverado z71 rst 4x4 didn't come with that
My 2020 came with it. Not sure if you even need it for the 2022. They know what each model year requires.

How does the new "Cameras" feature work on the Trailering app? Was your truck already camera ready?
Mine only supports the one camera still. My camper came with a wireless camera with its own screen. Not as cool, but it’s better then nothing lol.
Will this work on the base factory stereo as well ?
Hello - thank you for your videos! I heard you mention a jumper fuse that will leave the USB-C and USB plugs hot all the time. I have a 2022 GMC Sierra HD. Can you help me find that fuse so I can charge my phone when away from the truck?

Does upgrade give you album graphics when using xmradio?
I do have them. Not sure if this upgrade was responsible for them or not…

So having the wireless CarPlay for over a year now, is it still working flawlessly? Any complaints? Any problems? Still recommend?
The only time it doesn’t work if their is wifi interference in the area your in. Their is only one place in town it seems to
repeatedly happen in. Otherwise it’s been amazing. I can just leave my phone in my pocket and still have everything going. Throw a boost auto wireless charger and you can pitch all the cables in your truck. (Except when my wife puts her phone on the charging pad lol)

How did you get this to work? I also have a 2020 Trail Boss LT, WAMS just emailed me back and this would not work on my truck cause I have IOR radio.

It’s a factory unit, so it should have support for the foreseeable future, and it uses a combination of WiFi and Bluetooth technology to connect to your phone.

Good surface prep and that suction cup had a nice lever for really drawing it down. I have since upgraded to a boost auto wireless charger. With the wireless CarPlay working I don’t need to have my phone in a place where I can see it.

I’m going to comment again actually to ask if anybody else has had a “wifi interference disconnect” issue with this new mod??? I’ve had it in for 2 months now and literally every day since then my phone disconnects from the car play and reconnects and disconnects and reconnects again and again and again… did I plug the wires on incorrectly? Anybody have on-site on this??? Please message me or respond to this asap PLEASE
I had that happen consistently in one place on my commute. I changed where I set my phone and it went away. Might have been just a coincidence too lol.

With over the air updates and on star equipment installed (even if you don’t pay for it), they could easily do that from day one. And you’d think swapping their factory radio with my own would make it harder to track…

Work for 2+ years making a channel from nothing, paying for everything all while providing a production people actually want to watch. Once you get a few thousand subs a sponsor might ask you to get their product out there in front of the audience you spent years to create. Totally as easy and free as you describe it. 😜

2021 should already have wireless apple Carplay... I'd make sure it doesn't first, but if that's the case, then it should. You send them you vin first and they make sure it will work before sending it out.

Correct. I might have flubbed a line in there about carplay vs wireless carplay. All 2019's and newer have carplay.

It’s more of an “unlocked” 2021 radio. Their isn’t a downgraded version for less.
Does this work on a 2021 without wireless?
I thought it was a given with the 2021s… is it a custom? Either way I’d check the website. Given them your vin and they will tell you what they can do for you.
