- Flying during the COVID-19 outbreak... 96/143 passengers onboard!
Southwest Airlines
Flight 418
Portland International Airport- Las Vegas McCarran International Airport
PDX-LAS
Boeing 737-700
N225WN
The landing was smooth. The approach was minimally bumpy due to normal convection air currents.
Yeah, I was going to mention the currents...I was there almost 2 years ago now (thanks Covid) and we were getting rocked on approach. Taking off was not so bad once we got over the mountain range.
I’m about to fly there in three weeks. Is flying into Vegas usually bumpy?
@@myadventuresinthenewworld1660 Not so much bumpy but more windy. Heat rising off mountains typically generates turbulence in the warm seasons.
It's a bumpy ride down into the valley because of the rapid hot air rising from the desert floor and bldgs. which has a lifting effect. I've been to Vegas from Ohio many times. Once, it was so bad upon landing, the captain commented that there was no extra charge for the roller coaster ride...lol!
Oh wow lol! Yeah Vegas is always bumpy, especially during the summer time! Thanks so much for watching!
@@TravelWithSerge Yeh..that night we took a short stroll outside and the temp read 112 at midnight! Also, in Vegas is the first time I ever saw a Sundog...
yes... the "warm" landings in Las Vegas...
are always a bit of fun in the summer months!
Serge needs to stop the free whiskey shots while flying, this landing looked perfectly smooth to me.
Lovely video. So big over there makes my city Brisbane Australia look like country town.
This is a typical landing at the "Desert Paradise" (vailed humor). It's a rare day when it's not bumpy. Try it when a front hits the West Coast. Martini time.
usually it is pretty rough on the decent and the approach but the landing part is pretty smooth
Bumpy? It's Vegas. It's always a little shaky in and out, but that's not "bumpy." Click bait much?
Man that airport flyby and the strip next to it was magical. Great video mate
Holy shit... when you flipped that camera sideways, I got an extreme case of vertigo! 🤣
I kept waiting for the bumpy part but I must have missed it.
LIAR!!! I didn't see any bump, Click bait for sure!!
Clickbait title. Decent Vegas landing video.
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you so much for watching!
You want bumpy? Try landing at Reno when it's a little windy.
Gotta add it to my list! Thanks for watching!
Click bait. That wasn’t even close to bumpy my friend.
Bumpy approach, but 20/10 on the landing rate.
SERGE FFS IVE BEEN ON ROLLERCOASTERS WHICH HAVE BEEN BUMPIER !
when i when to las vagas we landed on the same runway
Nice footage.....landing in KLAS must be fun for pilots....there is no comparison landing in Vegas at night, of course.....
DAT MAH HOUS
O MAH GOD
I’m still waiting for the bump
Beautiful landing.
P.S. I've never had a bad landing at Vegas flying Southwest.
Leaving from Colorado Springs I have never the bumps and turbulence going in, coming back however....ewwww
it would be nice to know where your taking off from (and of course i know landing in vegas this stream) Oh and please dont abbrivate the airports because its hard sometimes to figure out which ones they are!!! thanks serge, love your channel!!! cmon people hit that like button for surge as itll help his channel!! thanks
Hey thank you so much for the support!! I always post the origin and destination in the description section of the video; abbreviated and un-abbreviated! ;) thank you for watching!!
waaaa
What bumpy?
That was far from being bumpy ! 😊 Smooth as silk.
nah that was bumpy
KLAS has alot of thermal activity
I refuse to fly into Vegas because of how bumpy it always is. It's been insane for me every time.
If you get anxiety try making your seat belt really tight. It'll help mentally.
Take a morning flight in and out of there. Flying in and out of notoriously bumpy desert airports like Las Vegas, Tucson, Palm Springs, etc. is often much smoother in the morning, when the winds are typically lighter and stronger thermals haven't had a chance to develop. It can make a pretty big difference.
Clickbait title 👎
just abit of crosswinds but the landing was butter
