Deze uitvoering op dit sublieme orgel is van de hoogst denkbare kwaliteit.

    Dear Petra,
It was indeed time to share this unique level of artistic expression with the world. I have listened to a gazillion performances of this piece but I have never encountered such a subtle approach and mastery of the technical matters. Please continue the good work, the world deserves to know this organ in Delft and its titularis, both being of world class.

I agree with those who say they can tell in the first two measures of this piece if it's going to be a good performance. Petra, brava to you. I hope you get to Atlanta, GA USA to perform for us...brilliant!

..holy carp, even the keyboards are Cavaillé-Coll. What a wonderful instrument.
    ...the voix humaine is exquisite.
    ...and it has ventils.

This is not an easy piece and you play it like a master. If a student wishes to know how to play this piece, they need to listen to this post. Your rendition is #1 on You Tube , in my humble estimation.

I listen to your post weekly. One would think you were a Franck student. Of course we know you were not, but I would bet the master would be so pleased. Just superb. The standard which any student could learn from.

    Beste mevrouw Veenswijk,

This piece, est ist mein hertz, und mein geist!! You rendered a wonderful performance of this Chorale, which sadly collects dust in the past. Hope to get a letter to the new (finally) impressive conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra to transcribe this, like "Stokey" transcribed the Toccata and Passacaglia. It is a really difficult piece to play. You performed it wonderfully. Thanks.

..amazing to hear that today's organ builders are embracing the wonderful tonal designs of the great Aristide Cavaillé-Coll.

well we're a little bit afraid to have to tell you that M.Maarschalkerweerd died in 1915, and that this exclusive instrument was built in Delft in 1893, just a short three years after Franck's death.

@@keescanalfp5143 ...yeah did a little extra checking and found that out.
Still amazing to find such a fine example of French Romantic Organ design in another nation by another builder, particularly one of that era. This instrument has definitely been well cared for as it looks "new".
Here in the States if it's old it gets replaced or rebuilt into something different instead of faithfully restored. We have so few old mechanical action instruments in their original form and specification save for a few in the east from the colonial days.

horror/thriller author at amazon.com books sez: I'm sorry but this version is just TOO SLOW, lacking the dramatic impact of THE definitive version: Marie Claire-Alain on the Cavaille-Coll at Reims Cathedral (which you can find on "Cesar Franck: Great Organ Works," Erato).
