    I have no idea who you are or how long you have been making videos or keyboards, but I've been trying to find information about the RGB on this keyboard and you Sir are the only person I've seen showing the modes and colors for it, thank you so much! Great Video!

      also could you tell me if you have noticed any abnormal input lag with that keyboard, I was planning on building one mostly for gaming!

      @JgM_11 So far I haven't noticed any lag. I've had it since February and use it as my main daily driver. I play satisfactory and swtor haven't had any issues so far.

    Wanted to put on a video in the background.
    This was quite relaxing. I was very surprised to see 51 subs.
    So let's make that 52 🎉

    Hello good sir. Trying to get into custom keebs. This will be my base keyboard for the build. Question, when you sandwich the pe foam betwwen the board and the poron, dis you also cut a cut out for when inserting the switches? (Like cutting the squares) or is it just ok to stab them thru?

    • @kvtech87
      @kvtech87  Před rokem +1

      You can stab it. It's what i did. I've seen some folks poke out the holes for the switches, which is a bit of work. Will give this advice, do the outside switches first that way it holds the pe foam in place.

      @@kvtech87 oh thank god you're active. Thanks for the response man. Here, have a like and a sub. Hope you grow much more here. I don't get why you only have the subs you currently have. I'll follow your advice, thanks! I'm basically set Ill have the gmk67 w/ akko cream yellow v3s. At this point, im just really torn and tired deciding between oem,mda,cherry keycaps. I'd be glad for an outside opinion, basically game fps and just type for work.

    • @kvtech87
      @kvtech87  Před rokem +3

      @ケンBadWulfe for me, I find the 65% layout to work best, I don't use the f row. Num pads rend to make keyboards bulky and I've gotten used just using the regular number row. I do enjoy the knob for volume control but not entirely necessary. The main part why 65% wins over say 60% if you are wanting a more compact keyboard is the arrow keys I use them more than I relized until I used a 60%. So you have to think of your need when it comes to picking a keyboard. My wife likes 100% keyboards it's all down to preference and needs.

      @@kvtech87 Hey man, excuse me. I just have a few questions about the gmk67, could you humor me for a bit to help me out solidify my decision?
      It would be my first custom keeb, but i really need a way to access function keys like f6 to f8 for work, idk if gmk67 have a "fn" key (i know they dont have f rows) or is it possible to map other keys on the right side where the pgdn pgup are? I couldn't find anything about mapping keys with gmk67. Couldn't convince myself as well with other 75% keyboard that are just as cheap and good with features like the gmk67. I can find good ones but it would be over budget with this build i am going with.

    • @kvtech87
      @kvtech87  Před rokem +2

      @ケンBadWulfe as far as an f row goes, you hit the fn key and any number keys. Ex fn+1 = f1, fn+2= f2, and so on. As far as mapping goes, I don't think it's possible or have found anything on it myself. I'm not sure what budget you are looking at, but there is the eppomakker ek68 it about the same keyboard, but it has software support, and you can do macro edits. They come fully pre-built, so switches and keys are taken care of. Hope this helps some.

    first of all im blast away about how i can change the rgb. I would never know this, big props on that. but are you really happy with the sound of it? I mean of your build. i got the same barebone with epsilon switches and drop dcx keycaps and its smooth as butter. when i heard first time when you type like 9 keys at once i got a creeps man, spacebar tho sounds awesome. i just got mine, for sure what im going to do to put epoxy on the bottom and change the first foam on the very bottom

    • @kvtech87
      @kvtech87  Před 9 měsíci

      Yeah, the sound is to my liking. I know everyone likes different things, so I know it might not be a universal like on the sound profile. Epoxy on the bottom sounds interesting that'll create a really good dampener would give you a nice deep sound. At some point, I want to do a silicone pour.

    • @okiwube
      @okiwube Před 9 měsíci +1

      i did epoxy on my CIY X77 and i cannot tell that it was a big difference but it did change a bit the sound profile, i felt it, but when i shown it to my gf, she didnt heard any difference, amateur xD im not sure about silicone, but after a epoxy keyboard felt more hefty and gmk67, lets be honest, you can feel its all plastic@@kvtech87other then that i can recommend kinesio tape above all

    hello i was just wondering your personal experience with the poron sheet and pe foam and the difference sounds it gives and why you like pe more?

    • @kvtech87
      @kvtech87  Před 11 měsíci

      To me the poron dampens more than what I like I'm looking for something somewhere in between thocc and clack more on the thocc side. Although will say the on the spacenbar that clack is to much at times.

    hey. Im thinking about getting a gmk67 board. I had an rk61. Do you think its an upgrade or downgrade? In terms of sound i found way better builds on gmk67 than rk61.
    About quality i have no idea. My rk stopped registring the A key properly after 2 years. Let me know what you think. Thanks

      @alvatrooper Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@dhruvama i have another one in the mail rn. it’s plastic case but that also makes it a bit thockier sounding. it’s also gasket mounted so it’ll feel soo much better than ur rk61.
      honestly builds are really personal you should make that choice yourself. There’s many things to consider: linear, tactile? thockier sound or creamier sound. budget? do you want to mod the keyboard? do u wanna lube your switches, stabs? because depending on your choices ur build can completely change.
      personally the only mod i would 100% recommend is tape modding the pcb. there’s sufficient foam inside already.

    • @kvtech87
      @kvtech87  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Also, keycaps help on the sound. I have the msa profile caps they are a bit more of a louder sound where as cherry profile give a definite satisfying thocc. Meant to reply sooner, my apologies. As @alvatrooper9092 put it does ultimately falls to personal preference. What I liked more of the gmk67 to the rk61 is the extended features. My top favorite form factor is 65% with a knob ( I use it more than I thought I would). 75%is to bulky and 61 is missing an arrow section, which I use as well. So need also plays a part in picking a new keyboard.

      Not that I know of. There is software out there for it, but I haven't been able to find it any link I find for turns up no longer available. If you look through mechanical keyboard reddit, there are some posts on how to edit the rgb. There might be a macros post on there.
