Kaiser confirmed the reference wasn't intentional, but there _is_ indeed a Goku Jr. He's a character from the GT movie/special which takes place after the series. He's Pan's grandson, AKA Goku's great-great-grandchild.
There actually IS a character called Goku Jr...in GT. He's Pan's grandson
That's actually always been my favorite aspect of 17 getting the name wrong. Not only did he not know Gohan's name, but he instead said the name of a character who would probably trigger a lot of fans the same way the mistake triggered Trunks.
I always enjoyed that little episode. Ik people don't like gt, but as for series endings and timeskips, it was pretty cool and felt nostalgic for some reason.
@@fireeaglefitnessmartialart935 GT may have been riddled with flaws, but the way it wrapped everything up with the Shadow Dragon Saga was the most perfect way the entire Dragon Ball story could've ended. And I'm confident that I'll die on that hill.
Dragon Ball Z gave us the end of Goku's story. And then GT came along, and wrapped things up by giving us an ending (more or less) to the Dragon Balls' story.
1. I appreciate Future Trunks' Cell having a different pitch to his voice as well as a different personality. Its a nice touch that didn't need to be there
2. Buu bits should definetly be post HFIL as the latter take place in the time between the Cell and Buu saga

Who said he'd try to sense them? He knows Wombat is near them. Hell he could just teleport to ANY nearby random if he had instant transmission.

@@chriserwin7823 Thing is, would Wombat's ki even be strong enough to be traceable for Instant Transmission. The weakest person Goku has homed on was Roshi, if I remember correctly, and he was one of the strongest people on Earth before Goku came along.

As for why 17 has a gun, a firearm is a lot more intimidating than simply pointing your finger or palm at a person, even if you can shoot out energy blasts far more powerful than a bullet. Being afraid of guns is a lot more engraved in our minds.

This is one of my favorite episodes of the show. I think it's mostly because how much I love Future Trunks' story in all its forms.
17 ending the old man was only in the manga, in the anime Trunks saves the old man. Shout out to TFS for being faithful to the manga.

They also followed the manga for Episode 60 Part 3. In the anime, everyone jumps in to attack Cell. In the manga, it was just Vegeta

Timeline wise, Dragon Shorts and HFIL is suppose to be between the Cell saga and the Buu saga. A certain character appeared in the newer HFIL episodes that happen In the DBZ movie that happens right after the Cell saga.
If people think of Goku Jr, it's more likely Goten since he looks exactly kid Goku.
TFS also did clips of Super but it's not on their channel. You have to look it up elsewhere on CZcams.

Actually we totally got the full chance to listen to the song. It is played to recap Cells life, and we saw Cells life in the future timeline, where he approached Trunks, got beat up, and then died. There wasn't much of his life in the future timeline to recap so the singing was short.

In the commentary they thought it was Wombat who called her a “Hobot”. Also in the manga the guy dies but in the anime he survives. Also the creators think that Trunks knew that Cell was around once cities were found with just their clothes left behind since well it’s Cell’s calling card.

Instant transmission wouldn't have helped Trunks getting to the androids. Goku teleports to people by sensing their energy and teleporting there. The androids have no energy output to sense.

I also didn't know who Jiren was when I first watched this. Toei significantly delayed Funimation getting the rights to it so there was a good deal of time before I started watching it. Honestly, I didn't care for Jiren at all and doubt even TFS could have made him enjoyable. He didn't give them much to work with.
In the DBCember list of DB fights the TFS guys say Jiren would have had more personality as a carrot and is "built like a wall with a personality to match"

Eh… a couple of decades off past GT’s events…
I'm not sure about which is better to watch in terms of jokes, given that I never watched Buu Bits (I could not stand the scrolling aspect ratio). But in terms of chronology, HFIL would take place before Buu Bits. Evidence being that a particular episode of HFIL references the Otherworld Tournament as an upcoming event, which occurs prior to the time skip that leads into the Buu Saga.
