Using this to build a set of chairs. Thank you. Great looking and simple. A cut list in description or in the beginning would be helpful. I got all pieces cut but had to rewind and pause a bunch to get the cuts and what they were for
Edit: After a reply i decided to make the cut list instead of just complaining about one not being there.
    Cut list:
2x4 cuts ( store bought cut size)
    2 cuts 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 37" angled back legs
    2 cuts 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 17" front legs
5 cuts at 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 14" (3 for cross brace supports for chair legs, 2 for chair back:1 upper and 1 lower back)
1x4,6,8 cuts (just need 1" material [3/4 if buying store bought])
    4 cuts 3/4" x 2 -1/2" x 14" ( apron )
    3 cuts 3/4" x 2-1/2" x 11" (back slats)

now it's time to work on the seat
      14:51
for the seat i'll take a 2 by 10 and cut
      14:54
      out two 18 inch pieces
      14:58
then over to the table saw where i will
      15:00
      remove the round over
      15:02
and then reset the fence to cut them at
      15:04
      a final width of 9 inches@@meattitan7101

We received this in the mail today! The packaging was fine, no damage during shipping thank goodness! The construction was very simple czcams.com/users/postUgkxXH3jIpsn6vpr3D26KWAriUejh7CSxVp7 , the bottom rocking part and the ottoman were already put together for us which is nice!As for the actual quality, the wood seems fine.. Not too cheap but maybe not the quality you would find in a store for 400$. However, it is still sturdy and feels secure. I've only had it for one night, so of course no squeaking yet.. But if it does squeak it could be easily oiled. The cushions are comfy, and made of a suede like material. Obviously with time these cushions will probably wear and tear.. But for the price of the chair it is still worth it just to go out and buy new cushions that fit in the future.Overall I am very satisfied, I was a little worried after reading some reviews and looking through the photos, but I'm happy I bought it! Obviously it's not a heavy-duty chair, but with care I'm hoping it will last a while.

A little confused. You make the template 1-3/4" wide but all the material calls for 1-1/2" finished stock. Did I miss something or are you compensating for cutting outside the lines and then using the flush trim bit to make the legs 1-1/2" x 1-1/2"? Any ideas would be helpful. thanks

Wow no a hand tool in sight.
    Girls and boys and others.
Hand tools are tools that don't make loud whirring noises
Don't make lots of nasty dust
Don't cost an arm and a leg
Are much less likely to cut your hand off.
They can drill ,cut, plane and shape.
You can fit them all in a toolbox and they work when the power is off
Just bit of history for you

    • @mattn9886
      @mattn9886 Před měsícem

How many videos have you made? Why don’t you do a video using hand tools only to build a chair instead knocking his work, time, effort, and way of doing something. Just because you use hand tools doesn’t mean it’s better, it’s just a different way of doing it.
History lesson kids, most of those who don’t know criticize. As an accomplished woodworker who is paralyzed power tools are only way for me to do most things now. Get into woodworking anyway you can, have fun and don’t let others discourage you.

I'm sorry you saw it that way. I in no way criticized his work or his video.
I made an observation and made a humourous response to this observation.
I use lots of power tools.
I have been making furniture for my own house for many years. Recently I have made a few chairs of my design. It is very satisfying thing to hand carve spindles with a draw knife and a spoke shave.
It would be a sad day when artisans and hand tools no longer exist.
I hope you enjoy your woodwork wherever you live .
