Such a trip watching old Allman Brothers videos. I'm a local real estate agent in CT and was at a Lowe's to have a copy of a key made. While waiting in line to get the key made, I turned around and saw the guy standing by some shelving checking out aloe plants. I knew right away who it was because of the area in CT I was. I walked over to the other aside of the shelf and literally said "holy shit it is you" - Jaimoe. Thankfully I play drums in a band with the bassist of Jaimoe's Jasssz Band so we were able to strike up a conversation about music. We stood there hanging out and talking for a good 30-40 minutes. Our conversation ended with us exchanging numbers! So yea, when I watch these old videos it blows my mind to think that I've become friends with Jaimoe still! Lol

Saw him live in Oklahoma City, with Cowboy, and then the reincarnation of the Allman Brothers Band at the opening night (Aug 1975) of the New Orleans Superdome. Cher was with him then and she hung around backstage but didn't perform. Wet Willie opened and some people say they stole the show with 'Keep On Smilin'. It was a great performance. I had the live Filmore East concert on vinyl, where you can hear someone in the audience yell out "Whippin" Post' and they break right into it. So I yelled it in Oklahoma City. I swear Greg glanced up at me when I did that! He didn't play it right away, though, not until the second set.

I listened to the album that was recorded in those last shows until it was white from playing it. To this day I regret it let alone the album made by CSN&Y during the same time frame. I was 15 in 1973 and my brother who was 21 and I joined the carnival in Ionia Michigan. from there we went to, Bad Ax, Midland, Cadillac , Traverse City and came home. What a summer! I made $125/week! $10 draw a day kept us eating and my brother didn't even have to work I supported us. Remember you could get a hot turkey dinner for $2.50 back then gas was .45/gallon. Life was good. My brother Herman got killed in 2014 and when ever I hear this song it's hard not to cry as a 65 yr old man, for times gone by as this song was on the radio often back then.

Boy, my respects for all the ABB members... But Dickie Betts is my Guitar Hero till this day. I have always admired his great responsibility in maintaining the guitar power in this group after Dwayne's passing ....

I watched a documentary about a guy who was the engineer for a record company and worked with the Allman Brothers Band. He said he set them up together as if they were at a gig and just let them play without interfering rather than having each band member record separately. It was the best way to capture their true sound. I live Allman Brothers music. They are my favorite go-to band and have been for a few decades. Live at Fillmore, best album!
