I put my Kindle Oasis as one of my most favorite worldly possessions. I bought mine refurbished and saved some money... It came to me basically brand new. ❤❤❤it. I love it so much I still watch any video on it after having mine for almost 2 years. Thanks for the video.

From Kindle 2 to PPW5 now ordered and waiting for the Oasis 3 refurbished because I just can't justify the price to my wife of a brand new Oasis :)

I have had nearly every Kindle since they came out. The Oasis is definitely my favorite. (I actually have two of them. The first one is an early version that didn’t have the adjustable warm light adjustment.) 32 go is the day to go, especially if you have any audible books. I didn’t think page turn buttons and auto rotation would make much of a difference until I had them. It eliminates the problem of inadvertent page turns when your fingers stray onto the edge of the screen. The form factor of the Oasis makes it easier to hold. Oasis screen size is the sweet spot between the Paperwhite screen and the Scribe screen. I agree with you about the micro USB charging port. It definitely should have been USB C. The Oasis is LOVE. Coming from a PPW 4 and 5, the physical buttons are a game-changer and the bigger screen as well :D
I agree!! I didn't thing that the little bit of difference in the screen would even be noticeable, but it really is.

Wish they’d release another pink 😢 the green obviously sell better as they released the Sage green in the 10th gen PW and now the Agave for the 11th gen.
I originally bought the kindle oasis and loved it till I started having issues. I tried to make it work, but eventually I traded it in for the basic and I am I. Love with that. It can do everything I want it to and more. I t is the perfect one for me! 😊
I really like the basic Kindle, too. I read on it just about every day when I’m riding the Peloton. Like you said, it does pretty much ALL the things, and it’s completely reliable.
Two problems with the Oasis: USB Micro charging and limited battery life. Love mine but don't buy one now. Wait for an upgrade. Paperwhite is a better option right now. Basic version is a good choice for a reader with a limited budget.
Yes and yes!! Well, yes and probably. I don't have an issue with the battery life ONLY because I plug my devices in pretty often. I have absolutely read that the battery life on the Oasis is subpar for a Kindle.
I don’t understand how a device that lasts weeks has people complaining about battery life. I read hours a day and only need to charge once a month tops. That’s 12x a year. That’s poor battery??
I don't disagree with you -- I don't have issues with battery life on any of my Kindles except for older ones, but this is a complaint that I see consistently with the Oasis. I wonder if it's either differences in how people use the light (like that some people have the light set higher than others, so they use more of the battery faster) or if it has to do with internet usage (variations in how different people's kindles search for internet to update progress). I have literally NO data to support those theories -- I'm really just spitballing ideas. 😂
I wonder if they'll ever upgrade the Oasis. I think the Scribe will be their "Premium" reader.

Just found your channel and im loving it! Just a quick question reading daily how long the battery lasts? If it lasts 1 week for me its great i dont understand people wanting battery to last months
Welcome!! Thanks for watching! As far as battery life, if you have your wifi and bluetooth on, the battery doesn't last as long, but if you have your device in airplane mode, the battery should last for well over a week if you read for about an hour a day every day. I keep my wifi and bluetooth on so that my progress updates, but my battery still lasts a LONG time!! I'm with you -- I don't understand people expecting a battery to last a month or longer.
Hey, Danielle. This is helpful. I have an older Kindle Paperwhite (2015 I think?). Does it work? Yes. Do I need a new one? No. Does that stop me from shopping? Again, no. I'm considering a new Paperwhite or the Oasis. I really appreciated your review here. I love buying refurbished electronics by the way. I've bought several refurbished iPhones, a laptop, and two iPads. I'll be watching for refurbished deals.

I've had it 2 weeks and I've already read 3 books. That should tell you all you need to know. 😀 In 2022 I read 2 all year.
“Spendy piece of kit” , “the drink”. Readers have broader vocabularies. The oasis has its drawbacks, but one thing that it does better than the new PW is switch hands, it so much easier to hold and read with either hand! Maybe a pop socket on the PW, but I need a cover on the front.

Yeah, the Oasis batter definitely has the worst reputation of all of the Kindles. I think I might have said this in my video (but I'm not sure), but I don't really have a problem with the battery in mine -- but I don't travel, use it on the go, etc. I charge mine pretty regularly (by which I mean whenever I think about it and have a free charger laying around).
I did read an article where a guy tested Amazon's claim that the Oasis will go for 6 weeks on a charge. He said that the key was to turn down the front light. I don't read on my Oasis in the dark, so I think I have my light turned down a bit . . .that might be why I don't see drastic battery drain issues, but what's the point of having a fancy e-reader with lots of lights if you HAVE to keep the lights turned down, right?!! 😂

I made a mistake of putting my popsocket directly on my Oasis and now it won't come off. It's like there's no budging it once it attaches to aluminum! LOL I love my Oasis though. I'm glad I'm not the only one with multiple kindles (I thought I needed therapy! lol). I have I think every version except the first with all the keyboard buttons, I lost that somewhere along the years. I just ordered the agave green Paperwhite thanks to watching your video showing it. It's so lovely!! I had to get it from Best Buy though, Amazon is out until September.

I have the New Paperwhite and also the New Basic Version in Denim Blue, and between the two, I honestly prefer the form factor of the Basic Version best. It just fits better in my hand. I would love to have an Oasis, but, I'm holding out and hoping that Amazon upgrades it soon (the current Oasis has been out there for a while now). If they do, I'M IN for sure.👍 My hope is that the battery life is increased even further, and the power connection is via USB-C too. Great Review, Thanks!

I’m in the same predicament I’ve got the 11th gen PW and whilst I love it, as it’s got all the features of the Oasis minus the page turn buttons I really wanted to get an Oasis this year, but since they haven’t updated since 2019 I’m pretty sure they’re discontinuing the Oasis hence why they made the PW very much like the Oasis, I just hope they incorporate page turn buttons to one of their Kindles again 😢

I recently ordered a refurbished Oasis as my first kindle and after going through the many cases / covers on Amazon decided on the clear case you have ! No stickers yet though :-(
That's awesome!! Let us know how you like the Kindle. i LOVE the Oasis. I don't know if I've said this in a video, but I don't even use stickers. I just find pics that I like online, drag them into Canva to make them the right size and get rid of backgrounds, and then cut them out and stick them in the case between the case and the Kindle. I like doing it that way because it's free, I can use any pic that I want, and there's not commitment!! I can change them any time that I want.
@@fitdaniellereadsI do this with my stickers, but found over time the case gets loose and doesn’t hold the stickers in place, so I’ve been using double sided tapes to keep it in place. No residue when removing.
I really want to do a Canva design where it LOOKS like stickers are stuck on and print it as is, so it’s just a Canva design printed but it looks like stickers are placed on it, if that makes sense 😂
If you get a certified refurbished device you get the same 1 year warranty the new devices have. If you get used or renewed then it doesn't.
