  • A couple years ago Kristtn and I stumbled upon Seneca Rocks. Ever since that day we've talked about going back to rock climb its impressive cliffs. Well the time has finally come so we loaded down the Tacoma with all our camping and climbing gear and brought the dogs along for the ride. I hope everyone who watches enjoys our relaxing trip into the West Virginia Appalachian Mountains. Seneca Rocks is one of the more beautiful places I've been in the Appalachia and defently one of the better places to climb. If this is your thing maybe you'll consider giving it a visit.

I was watching your adventure when you mentioned a climb I was very familiar with. Seldom Seen. I put that route up 40 years ago. Form the description of the trails now, finding the climb shouldn’t have been a problem. I haven’t been to Seneca since the trail to the North Peak opened so this it just from descriptions. There is trail that branches off the main trail and heads towards the lower slabs. At some point the trail splits. If you take the trail on the left, it will dump you out at the base of a crack. This climb is called Scuttle. Seldom Seen would be about 20 feet to the right of Scuttle. Apparently, there is a bolted route to the right of Seldom Seen. I’m unsure of its name.

Thanks! I think we took the wrong trail split. We ended up at the South end of the lower slabs.
