      The salmon is such a weird color I really want to love it and this is the closest I've come to even remotely liking it...

    Both are beautiful!! Oddly (for me - the blue fan) I prefer the white-based one a bit more. 😁🤩

    I like them both the white spray painted one more. 🥰👍 I haven’t tried inking a glass so I’m going to get out of my rut and try this. Thanks for sharing Rae 😍😊

      I like the white base one from today's video best myself! Try it they are so inexpensive to work on its not a huge deal if they aren't perfect!

    You have incredible alcohol ink skills!!
    I tend to get frustrated trying to get the look I want. Thanks for all of your tutorials. 😊

      I started inking things back in like 2004 or 2005 when the OG Adirondak Ranger inks came out so it was years of working on assorted surfaces translated into use on tumblers..

    Stunning! I'm not familiar with that brand of resin. As you were coming back in an hour to remove the tape - what total cure time is that resin please? So I can work out what best to use from what is available in the UK. Loving your videos, I'm on a binge watch over the weekend I think

    • @RaesTurquoiseTurtle
      @RaesTurquoiseTurtle  Před 9 měsíci

      You can use whatever resin works best for your environment for these I generally use a slower drying (6 to 8 hours) epoxy which is where the 1 hour tape removal comes in. You want to to be ready to stay in place but not so dry you can't remove the tape.

    Dear Raes (I hope that is your first name?) I just found you here on CZcams and love your videos'. Can you please tell me how you prepped the white base layer? is that spray paint? And what kind of spray paint? greetings from Laerke in Amsterdam

  • @gourdhead22
    @gourdhead22 Před 2 lety +1

    Those are very cool. I saw someone put text on glass then spray paint so there was a message inside. Do you do anything to prep the glasses other then clean them? That was fun...hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙

    I love your tutorials! How long do you spin them after inking and how long after adding epoxy?

    • @RaesTurquoiseTurtle
      @RaesTurquoiseTurtle  Před rokem +1

      Depends on the epoxy you use some o ly need two hours some will need overnight. For just ink they are dry almost immediately.

  • @debcampbell9539

    Can these be sealed with anything other than resin? I don’t have the necessary ventilation in my apartment with winter approaching. I’m thinking perhaps a clear spray?

    • @RaesTurquoiseTurtle
      @RaesTurquoiseTurtle  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I wouldn't rely solely on sprays to make a functional drinking glass. I believe some of the food ssfe epoxy alternatives now have their own inks but I don't have any experience with any of those. For me epoxy is the only method to make these as functional drinking glasses but there may be other ways I'm just unaware of.

      The sprays usually have more of an odor than the resin. I resin inside all the time, but I have to go outside to spray my work.

    Can they go in the dishwasher?

    • @RaesTurquoiseTurtle

      I wouldn't personally but I don't put any type of handmade cup in the dishwasher.
