      dowboykfx470 but after the swap does just pushing the trunk button on the key open it or du you have to lift?

      @justinbuice  Před 5 lety +4

      @@kexy you would need to install a spring if you want it to "pop" open with the key. With the new shocks, you have to lift the trunk about 5 inches and it goes up on it's own from there.

    Thanks for the really helpful video of install Justin. It took a broken strut end to replace me, I’m glad it broke as I just thought that was the way it was with the heaviness of the trunk, it often closed whilst I had me head in the trunk hitting my back or head. I am about to install new struts now. Thanks again mate. Cheers - Stu 😀

    Looking for advise please! I have a 2011 E90 and recently both or the sideview mirrors (just the glass not the housing) started shaking at highway speeds. They are both solid at low speeds even on the bumpiest roads so I assume it must be the wind speed shaking them around somehow. They both have a little wiggle room to the touch and bounce back into place. Thanks in advance.

    Can u do another video like this but for replacing the hood struts

  • @pfoglar
    @pfoglar Před 5 lety

    Yes, in my part of the world we refer to the "trunk" as the boot, and the "hood" is the bonnet, AND the "glove box" as the cubbyhole! :D
    Typical and normal to shed blood whenever working on a BMW, and always be careful with the 10mm socket around these cars! :D
    Back to the vid, pretty cool little DIY, mine is still using the original struts, so pretty much the same as how yours were, will have to replace them at some point. The ones for the bonnet are interestingly still pretty good though.
