Brown ugali in small proportion and more green vegetable like skomawick is good, no starch food like white rice, white ugali because they have too much starch turns into sugar during process of digestion and our bodies sometimes can not break down sugar and the pancreas having to overwork to produce bile and this causing the body not knowing what to do with sugar and leading to diabetic. Claude please try to turn off the light in Grandma's room it helps lower the blood pressure when the room is dark. Also encourage her to breathe in through the mouth and breathe out the nose. That would help.

Hospital food looks delicious and it is nice to receive a personal care package as well, she is looking much brighter today, God Bless Her she is in my prayers to recover soon and go home to her loved ones. The blood sugar test should be taken the first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, the results of the reading also depend on what you ate the night before, but the most accurate results would be from overnight fasting for a blood test and urine sample, to give the correct reading, the nurse took this after she ate which is a different reading that is why it is high. Claude, best not to discuss her health in front of Grandma, if the outcome is not positive it will make her panic and cause her stress. Cheers!

Your dad needs to be with his mama while everyone is out working.
It is great to see Bibi looking beautiful as always. Do you have access to FreeStyle Libre 2 . . .it does not require pricking the finger tips. Its not painful or intrusive, but it is a bit costly. Is the medical care subsidized in Kenya . . .that will help to make it affordable. My prayers are with her. 🥰
CGM devices such as the Freestyle Libre are still not widely used here in Kenya mainly because of the cost. Reliance is more on the Glucometer for spot blood sugar checks and periodic HbA1C tests. Perhaps with the new Social Health Insurance Fund expected by mid this Year, consideration of CGMs will be made (Diabetes has been designated as a chronic condition by the Government of Kenya).

Sugar and BP need regular monitoring . Her diet should reviewed . And take Her medication as prescribed. Get a BP and sugar test kit so you can monitor Her at home.
They have to be educated to do it. Sometimes blood glucose and BP have parameters on when to administer meds or to hold. It can result to drop of both and lead to a serious situation.
