A couple of comments:
(1) heated grips
There are two things you need to do to get heats grips to work. 1) purchase and install the new grips, and 2) have HD techs update the bike's firmware to activate the grip controls.
(2) Blue Tooth Connectivity
1) The Blue Tooth on this bike has a little baby problem that users need to be aware of; the connectivity to the phone will run the battery on the phone down rapidly. This is particularly true for Samsung Android phones like mine. Consequently, you'll want to get a beefy (longer, fatter) usb cable (I use 10' cable) with type C usb on one end, and micro usb on the other (for samsung android).... or type C on one end and Apple usb on the other for iPhone. The phone will charge slowly in this mode with the cable plugged in, but the battery on the phone will not run down rapidly. Keep in mind the usb connecter on the Sportster S is NOT a comm link... just power.
2) The tech on the Sportster S | HD phone app has a little baby problem with the feedback from the bike. The clock syncs well from the app to the bike... no problem. But, the bike data (odometer, range, fuel level) does NOT appear correctly in the phone app. This may have to do with a firmware update from HD, I'll keep you posted.
Otherwise I've had no other issue with the tech on the bike; its phenomenal. HD provides a helmet with blue tooth and stereo built-in designed specifically for the Sportster S (or Pan America) and I'm looking forward to trying that later this Spring.

@@justyna869 , to be complete , after I haf the firmware updated (including IMU) and got the latest app, all issues are resolved.
@@markh.harris9271 I already have the motorcycle's software updated. But there is no newer version of the smartphone app in Europe yet. So I don't see any improvement when it comes to feedback from the motorcycle to the app as for now.
@@justyna869 , be sure your dealer knows about the update to the IMU software. Requires a dealer download of software file, to a usb drive with type C connector. Then the software is downloaded to the bike through the bikes USB port using bikes settings software download option. I know the book states the C usb port is "charge only" , but that's a lie. The port is ALSO a proprietary software download port some dealers don't even know about.
My app feedback from he bike got corrected after the IMU software update via the C usb port.

If you hold the home button for 2 to 3 seconds, the whole background color will turn from black to white…. 😁
Just in case you like to change the color. A buddy was messing around my sportster S and figured it out by mistake. I prefer the white full background….. hope that helps ….. ride safe everyone

To make my sena work well with my sportster, I turn on the bike first. Once it’s been on for a few seconds, I turn on my sena and it works perfectly. I can adjust the music and mesh intercom volume independently. This took me multiple rides to figure out. I hope this works for others seeking better connection while riding.

Hi Ty, I got my Sportster just two days back, so excited. Your videos on the bike did play a big role in my decision making process, so thank you. One question question. I have a few videos in which the infotainment background display has two color options, the dark mode and white mode. By default my bike has the dark/black screen and I cant find out the option to change it to the white mode. Do you know how? Thanks.

I pick mine up today. In answer to your question I am guessing it would be in appearance under settings. You’ll see it at around 9.40 in the video when he talks about Bluetooth. I see the appearance option there. I am only assuming but will check it out later today on my own.
So, if you ride your other bike you have to completely redo the bluetooth connection of your headset and your phone because you made your phone forget the senna? Isn't there a better way? I am asking this because I have the sportster s and a Yamaha R6. And I have difficulties pairing my cardo smartpack with the sportster s. Greetings from Belgium. I don't use my headset with my other bike (the StreetGlide). I only use the external fairing speakers for music and such. It works well most of the time. Some time it's a little buggy, but not too bad. Thank you very much for watching! I appreciate your time today!

Ty. I have 21 Sportster s here in Alabama. My question may be stupid but I have yet to get my manual and the ABS system shows off. How does that get turned back on?
Great question. I've been reading the Sportster S owners manual that I downloaded online from H-D. Does this help "Traction control is automatically enabled at each ignition start cycle. The rider may choose to disable traction control anytime the vehicle is at a complete stop and the engine is running by pressing and holding the traction control switch for one full second."

Any help with the sound through earphones? I have beats Bluetooth earphones. I connect to the instrument cluster on my sportster s and i can hear to music and control it no problem.. but it’s not as loud as it should be? Is there a setting in my phone I need to adjust. When I connect to just my phone it’s very loud. Thank you for the videos Ty!

I'm new riders i got the sportster s 22 on the 9/26 /22. For the 4 days I wass happy. After the only problem we the motorcycle I was a owner of a rebel 1100. I I switch to the Harley I think Decision I make I got the engine light on 2 times the motorcycle dies on me on the highway And I engein starting making sparks Everytime I turn it on It's already 2 weeks that my motorcycle is in a dealership

Where does the music play through? The bike or your helmet?

Does your fuel gauge mark as “full” for a long time after filling up? I have found on my sportster s after i fill up the tank it will show as full for about 40-50miles then it goes down normally. Is this something you’ve also noticed ?

I am still baffled as to how to enter a destination in the map setting. I have the Harley app but don’t see anything except rides that it recommends. I have tried using goggle maps and the iPhone maps and nothing seems to work….????

I hated this bike lol. Sold mine after 600 miles. Spine shattering suspension if you are 225 lbs 😂 Performance is good. That revolution max motor is good but the overall comfort of the bike was terrible for a big guy

I would have to disagree. We also have a 2021 Indian Scout bobber. The 2023 Harley Sportster S beats the Indain Scout Bobber in numbers, power, and tech. The only area the Indaint wins is the slightly larger tank size.
