Definitely one of my all time favorite Motown songs. Brenda Holloway should have been a mega star! Man, that lady could sing with the best of the female artist during that era. Perhaps she was not properly promoted or marketed..
I have this on 7 inch singles. One ordinary Motown. The other on yellow Motown.Fantastic record.Has to be one of the best Motown recordings ever.Play it regularly.
What a beautiful video. The dancing is exceptional. The people are dancing exactly to the music great moves. Thanks to Brenda. She is incredible. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where is this beautiful dancing taking place. Thanks to beautiful Brenda Holloway. And her strong voice. And beautiful. Music. Looooove those drums. 🙋🏻♀️
Great song I only recently heard. I was born in 1956, and I noticed the style of dancing is completely different from the way people danced in the 1960s. Interesting: No hip movement at all, lotta shuffling. Does the style of dance have a name? is it a common way of dancing now to “Northern soul” music ( in Britain) or other places? Or?
Northern Soul ( it was a Northern England trend ) became hugely popular in the 1970's. All night dances were often held in Wigan. There are still Northern Soul dances held in UK, if you search, you'll find some. Good luck and good dancing.
Well said and as Brit i state that whilst it was our side of the pond that rediscovered so many of soul's forgotten heroes and created the subculture of Northern soul, it was black America that created the magic in the first place, and yes this music is globally revered.
Can someone tell me if this dance has any structured steps or patterns ? It appears if they are just shuffling their feet ? Does the dance have a name ?
