- In this video the job of making our 13 year old van better for us continues.
We give her an oil change, sort out her rusty bottom and look at bringing her upto date inside, then we start taking things out!
Its been a busy week, but we aren't finished yet, our list is long and time is running out before we leave the UK for 3 months.
We are Corrin and Paul and with ourTHREE dogs (Pippa, Dolly and little Wilf) we have travelled to 23 countries in Europe in our 13 year old motorhome.

I wish I'd been able to go for the European option on my new German Knaus Van when I purchased it, the Europeans rarely have an oven fitted and I don't blame them. So I've made the decision to have the oven that's never been used professionally removed over the winter and a slide out made by a carpenter to house my bigger air fryer now that I've had the new solar/inverter fitted. I'll keep the gas hob for now but I'm also tempted to replace it with an electric Induction Hob......love the vinyl work Corrin, you've done a cracking job! And a big thanks to Paul for the excellent video on the Maxfan installation, really helpful as I've found that the rear roof hood is the same 400x400 size as the MaxFan......Happy travels guys!!!

Glad the vlogs have been of use,the oven is quite a simple remove ( in our case ) we’ve now capped the pipe, but it could be reinstated for future use , the maxx fan is superb, especially when running two ! And the vinyl has certainly lifted the inside … a slide out is a good idea , we’ve just plonked a huge power station in our newly created cupboard ! As you say, the oven isn’t really of much use with air fryers being far more economic 👌❤️
It makes such a difference when you change the cupboards. We covered ours and we also took out the oven, grill and Hob! We use a camping stove so can cook outside! We are hoping to get the kitchen unit changed and make it easier to use. 😊

You need to fit a 8mm stop end on the gas pipe that went to your oven.

You should done drawers matching the doors in plain vinyl because it would look lot better than the striped one . But I agree looks lot better than red wood .oh my yorkipoo used bring me stones when he was puppy still likes to find things from garden to chew 😅

Hi Both, Really glad you are getting all sorted it is so satisfying when all is done & dusted 🤗 at least wherever you go to get your motorhome sorted oil change tyres etcetera you are only 5/ 10 mins away which makes life a lot easier love to u both 💖👍
Thankyou ! ❤️❤️ yes we are fairly central for all the things we need , although after seeing the oil change being done, I might be tempted to do it myself next time , but the oil and filter is about £75 to buy… so £30 for a service stamp and somebody else gets messy… hmm 🤔. 🙂❤️

To be honest I didn’t even think of it , I usually do all my own servicing so this was a first ! I had a receipt with full details and mileage , it already has quite a substantial paper trail with its service record, not sure if Kwik fit update the ecu .. main dealer was twice the price 😬 thanks for watching and asking a great question ❤️
That's a Fiat chassis not Alko. Fiat has leaf springs and is white. Alko has Torsion Bar suspension.

Love the interior transform, but don't cover all the wood as it adds a further texture and imho it looks classy. Keep up the good work, love your vlogs x

Is the maxi vent the same/ similar to the omnivent that is already in our moho ?
Yes, very similar , although the maxx fan does open and close at pre set temperatures and has a remote , some omnivents don’t have a fan I believe , but the ones with are certainly a great option too 🙂
Love the new puppy, is he a rescue? I have a small 14 year old terrier, my husband says I haven’t room for another dog in the van (6meters) so obviously not true if you have three . Love the upgrades doesn’t it just make a big difference.

My friend had a workshop and he had a hand pump with a long hose for oil change on likewise vehicles
That would’ve made it a bit easier for sure , fortunately the guy that did it was able to adapt and overcome 👌🙂
You mentioned you are a Blue Light card holder. The Esso fuel card can be obtained through them 4p off Diesel. And some offers I just paid £1.39.9 a liter.

Hi try callow oils in Stiurport on severn, they have serviced pumps and are open six days a week. Haven't tried it yet but they are fuel suppliers for petrol, gas and heating oil.

If you never intend towing could you remove tow bar as it would relieve you of some weight to give you more payload.
Hi Linda ! We have a bike rack that goes on the tow bar which we have used now and again, it also stops us bottoming out when we come down a steep hill , although short, it does happen now and again ❤️ great idea though, Thankyou 🙂

I think the pattern vinyl is a bit too much. Plain white or plain anything would be a bit less screaming.

Hi Guys a friend of mine told me [ diesel fitter ] never to use cheap supermarket fuel in my motorhome it destroys the injectors ,and that's a very expensive job .
Good morning, thanks for commenting , really valid point ! There are certainly mixed reviews online , but overall it seems to suggest it’s fine to use with no issues , some do have additives, I remember my Dad adding a shot of redex at the pumps , but now and again, possibly it’s worthwhile using a premium fuel to run through now and again 🙂👌

Van is looking FAB! The vinyl has really lightened and brightened that darker end, have you done the inside of the doors too or just the face of each one?

Fascinated to hear you are doing away with the oven. I hardly use my oven at home these days as we have a large air fryer, the type with a shelf in, and that's all we need for a family of 4! I do everything in it! Would love to put it into a van but I think it would draw too much power, it would need its own solar array 😂.

Just the outsides of the doors 🙂 the power-bank we have will run the air fryer all day , and when in Europe we usually enjoy the local food or cold picks 🙂 the oven removal was a great decision, we hardly used it , so the air fryer is going to get used more, our gas will last longer too 🙂❤️ and little Wilf is adorable 🐾🙂🐩
@@redsgotravels Is Jeffrey the air fryer quite a low wattage? Or maybe the power bank is a beast!? Most of the vans we've been looking it have a free standing oven, grill and hob and like you, I think I'd want it out. Huge weight/space for very little use if I can find a way to use an air fryer instead and reinstall a hob into the work top. 😀
😂Jeffrey is about 900 watts, so any 1000 watt bank should do the job , and we’ve kept the hob for now as it’s separate and takes very little space 🙂 we’ve gained quite a bit of space 👍

Owner of a European Left Hand Drive motorhome so never had an oven and never miss it but do have a outside Bullfinch External Gas Point for a BBQ. Can you cook outside as well?
Good evening ! We don’t have an outside point , however you’ve now given me an idea ….. I can use the oven supply pipe for an external gas point .., hmmm 🤔❤️ I like it 👍
