Hey friends, in part 2 of this interview series, Gracia, a Singaporean veterinarian sat down and had an open and honest conversation about her vet journey, what its like working in Singapore as a vet (having graduated from University of Glasgow, UK) and we both had a candid chat about the struggles we both face when starting out as vets (watch to the last part of the interview if you're interested)
ps: if you're a new grad vet, you may resonate with this and I hope this gives you some solidarity and hope that you are not alone and that things will get better!
✨Why this interview series?
I am so passionate about sharing the word and highlighting all the hard work veterinary folk do on the daily, so I hope you enjoy part 2 of a 3 part interview series of these real people! Huge thanks to the Atlas vet team for being so sporting to do these interviews :)

Being Singaporean, how did you afford hefty veterinary school fees; was it via a loan or parental funding? I wish to pursue such a goal, but financial constraints are worrying - I do not wish to be of financial burden to family. In that aspect, how did you manage it?
I got some questions: I’m currently in my last year of high school, which started a week ago. I’ve seen from the UGent website that you can apply for the entrance exam in march before the start of a year of school.
Question: do I apply when I haven’t even done my exams yet (march next year) and start obtaining as much knowledge about vet university as possible, or do I wait until I did my exams, finish high school and then start practising all I need to know in order to do a good job at the entrance exam in two years?
I’m unfamiliar with UGent so it’ll be best to email or contact admissions team, usually people sit their exams or have predicted grades when applying for university in general, so best to contact them direct for advice!
@@MayYean okay, thanks!
