BARENTS PEACE 1999 - Engelsk versjon/English version

Exercise "Barents Peace 1999" took place in the province of Finnmark in Northern Norway in june. It was an international peace support exercise in the Spirit of Partnership for Peace. Military participants from 10 countries; - Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, United States of America and Norway, - totalling som 2000 soldiers took part. In addition, aid organisations; Norwegian Red Cross, Norwegian Refugee Council, Norwegian People's Aid, Norwegian Church Aid and save the Children, Norway, Joined in the exercise, along with the civilian police and the Norwegian Civil Defence, - all to gain important experience in civilian-military co-operation.
