Back to the Basic Sword - Hades .... Why?

I despise the default bow and I've been dreading possibly having the return to it. However I seem to have glossed over the starting sword and it being the absolute worst thing ever. Seriously how am I supposed to escape under these conditions? I have to persist, I must see it through and I have to force myself to deal with this piece of ^%#$& weapon. AHHHHhhhhh!!!
