- Neighbor came to me asking about fixing a saw. Walked into his garage and this is what he was cutting with, he is borrowing it. Heres the video of me getting her back to cutting. I did ask that if his buddy ever wants to sell it to let me know. This was a hard one to give back.
That one is in great shape compared to the 10-10 I’m building. Thanks for the video!
Alot of 10-10 made their keep as daily firewood saws and keeping houses warm. Others were once in awhile jobs.
Goodnight! Even discolored the clutch shoes!
Yes it did. Chain was so dual it had to only be throwing dust.
@@mistermacgray bet the poor guy running it got a hell of an upper body workout pushing it through the cut!
I just rebuild a 10-10S Carb last week looked the same way, looking in the intake piston looked great but you need to look in exhaust on this one it was scored but had good compression.
Wasnt my saw to look that far into. I was going for it running properly again and that's all they wanted done. I didnt charge them anything to work on it either because I made a CZcams video on it.
@@mistermacgray I will send you a McCulloch to work on to make a CZcams video
@@arkansasnaturalstate what model is it may I ask?
@@mistermacgray well I have a 33, 33super, 2-250's, I-46, 3-10-10's, several old homelites, several Stihl chainsaws 045 that I have been wanting to get running for a while
She’s a hot rod saw. Mine starts up like that also. Fuel line is different. don’t ever take the chain brake handle off super pain in the rear. I also need to replace my original air filter.
Damn. Don't know how I missed this one. That poor saw 🥺🥺
Sucks is not in my possession
@@mistermacgray yeah those 10-10S are sweet little saws. I love mine. One of my go to Macs.
@@JeremyChiles I have a pm555 that is close enough to it. Also the 10-10S is heavier with an all aluminum tank.
@@mistermacgray the PM555 isn't one I'm familiar with. Sounds like a nice saw. I run a PM55 as well. My SP70 and 81 get my bigger stuff. Eventually I'll find a SP125. For now the really big jobs go to my stihl 066 and 088.
@@JeremyChiles its like the pm55 but a different paint scheme making it harder to find...triple nickle is what it is called lol.
Can fix the bar. The chains fine. The clutch needs no grease just the needle bearings.
Bar was trashed, no helping it.
Chainsaw rescue!! Bryan
I was about to choose a saw to do start em Sunday with, guess it was chosen for me
It's surprising that some of these old saws ran at all. Built to tolerate neglect and abuse, apparently. It's shocking how much $ these 10-10s go for on Ebay.

I have a pro Mac 10-10. What mix should I use? It says to use 40:1 Mac specialty mix oil and if that isn’t available, to use 20:1 ratio of SAE40 mix, but because the specialty stuff isn’t made anymore, I would be using the 20:1. The thing with that is oils have changed and 20:1 would be too much with today’s oil. On Facebook the general consensus seems to be 32:1 of a modern good quality mix like Stihl. Is that right? Thanks in advance.
I run 32:1 in all my macs, from the ones from the 50s all the way to my newest one last produced in 1995 with zero issues. Run good quality fuel with a good quality oil and proper carb adjustment and a sharp chain.
Oil is cheap. Rebuilds, not so much.
@@mistermacgray thanks.
Dress the bar replace tip if available
Wasnt my saw to do it to but also the bat was trashed and not worth saving. Cheaper to get a new bar. I put a decent hard nose on it and they paid for it.
That is totally the wrong fuel line for that. The proper one should be black with a molded, grommet to go through the fuel tank also rib or corrugated two been at a 90-degree going into the carb.
You would want to assume that but this is a late model version made in the 90s where that black line was eliminated and the green tygon line was being used, right before black and decker sold the McCulloch name off to Taiwan. I had a pm8200 with this same green tygon line. You can use any fuel line you want on anything as long as it is large enough to feed and seals up coming out of the tank.
@@mistermacgray wow that is quite interesting. Glad to know that. Thanks for your input. Have a good holiday thanks and goodbye.

What did they use as a fuel line setup?
Tune the h jet while making cut you'll see
I ran this one fat to hopefully save its life because it isn't mine but somebody who ran it poorly.
Some people shouldn't have nice things.
