    I love Singapore. Such a small nation and we already got 4 terminals. Still building the 5th terminal which is going to be bigger then all 4 terminals combine. That's what we call terminal illness.

    Although many Singaporeans are not happy with their competitive life style but you have to admit Singapore government is really very efficient & futuristic in terms of building the future of Singapore.
    Changhi is already a very busy airport and I'm pretty sure it's going to be the regional hub with its impeccable infrastructure soon.

    When Changi Airport was first opened in the early 80s, it was a game changer in the aviation industry n soon many countries followed suit to build massive airports.
    Well done Singapore. Always planning n looking ahead to stay ahead.

    Terminal 5 will help encourage airlines that have not yet flown to Singapore to do so and tourist numbers will increase. Some airlines like American Airlines, Air Canada, Pakistan International Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Hainan Airlines, LATAM Airlines and Iberia I hope will eventually fly to Singapore. The situation is improving already. Recently Norwegian and LOT Polish airlines started flying to Singapore. Soon, Singapore will receive so much tourists that we will be a TOP tourist destination.

      well, if I recall correctly, the plan for Changi (or Singapore for that matter) is to be the regional HQ or hub. So let's not constrict the view to within the country level but including neighbouring areas. For example, lot of us Filipinos would rather connect via SIN instead of opting for Philippine Airlines' or other local airlines' flights even if they offer direct ones.

Here in Australia our government has been talking about a second Sydney airport for some 2-3 decades and still waiting...Here you have a wonderful country with a population of approx. 6 million that has 5 terminals OMG Sydney you are so embarrassing and what an inept Government!!! It has got gardens, parks, movie theatres, kids area, video games, massage chairs and all, most of them completely free. The airport and the airlines of Singapore complement each other and are preferred option for any passenger traveling.

    I don’t get it, as a foreigner who visits singapore at least once a year, I think Changi needs more runways instead of terminals. The Q while taxiing or landing has become longer and more frequent.
    Seems like building terminals is more like an “image” to maintain. Maybe Changi itself is an airport where foreigners love it, but a lot of locals hate it due to the spending costs.

    No need laahh T1, T2 and T3 + T4 is not crowded yet. We never queuing for hour in immigration, we never missed flight due to check in queue we never had to stand up for hours just because lack of seats. All the passengers needs Changi Airport still can provide. I’m afraid someday people will avoid Changi Airport due to super expensive airport tax.

    Renovate T1&T2 like T4 is better than building T5

    • @NMLE
      @NMLE Před 6 lety +9

      Alonson Renovating T1 & T2 is an option, and that is like the budget terminal, close down and refresh. But, closing down would only affect the amount of tourists to reduce due to the lack of space. When that happens, our economic will slow down. As a result, we had to pay more taxes. With the current terminals we had, i can say its kind of lame. If some other country build an airport bigger than ours, GG for SG, and the whole thing i mentioned earlier will repeat. We definitely need a game changer terminal.

    As someone who loves aviation, airports and airlines, I do hope that the upcoming Changi T5 will be luxurious, elegant, magnificent and has that business-like feels to the interior design just like (or even better than) T3. A little bit of concern that the so-called ‘environmentally-friendly stuff’ or ‘sustainability stuff’, though have their own merits, may have the potential to diminish the luxury and sense of awe to the terminal’s internal design, look, and therefore guests’ overall experience. As thus far, Changi airport is arguably the most impressive airport in Southeast Asia regions and perhaps in the world.
    An exceptional travel experience will also involve all of our five senses. While as of this writing in the year 2022 which is still in the beginning of post-pandemic era, it is understandable that people do not place importance to one of the five senses, that is, sense of touch, however, in the long run, I do think that our sense of touch is an integral part of human experience and it would be better if it is not neglected just like the pre-pandemic era. For instance, having physical boarding pass, physical menu at restaurant / lounges, physical magazine or newspaper, full amenities, or other things that involve our sense of touch.
    In the end, truly I look forwards to the brand-new Changi T5 accompanied by its warmth service and hospitality that will be offered. Best regards to all stakeholders who will make this happen.

    Improve your customer service first. Your immigration officers, check in counter staffs, and other staffs working at changi , especially singaporeans , need to go back to learn how to serve passengers the right way.

  • @ndrendre1111
    @ndrendre1111 Před 6 lety

    when I've arrived in changi terminal 1, most of gate are empty, but unfortunately, the immigration queue is too long, I think they should maximize the utilisation of the existing terminal, instead of adding new terminal,.. but it's good that Singapore have a good planning for future, but I think it's kinda waste of money... (better than Indonesian that waiting for overcapacity to build a new terminal) 😒

    Rather than build more terminal I think Singapore government should take a look first the people's whose work there. if put the same people's with Same character and manner then just forget it.Same officers most of them there is just rude, ridiculous and discriminating. you should teach them some manner first,to be kind & good Heart people's to all visitors whoever them whose coming There not all about money money money ask how much money they have on pocket when there are arrived there before build luxury's with buried poor people's dreams& hope's. Not all people's in this world rich but all of them deserved to get dreams. as me too.

    as if sg has a huge domestic market like philippines or indonesia to support and sustain its 5th terminal.(4th terminal cant even filled its full capacity )..yes changi is a transit hub..but SG IS NOT THE MOST VISITED COUNTRY IN SOUTH EAST ASIA IN TERMS OF TOURIST ARRIVALS....bangkok or kuala lumpur airport are also major transit hub...wait until manila construct its NEW MEGA AIRPORT THAT CAN HANDLE 120 MILLION PASSENGERS....
